To Whom It May Concern, I would like to report a concern regarding the traffic signal at the intersection of South Walnut Street and East South Drive. A couple of months ago, the traffic signal timing was changed. Since then, the light appears to stop northbound and southbound traffic on South Walnut Street much more frequently than it allows traffic to exit South High School via East South Drive. As a result, traffic on South Walnut Street backs up significantly, particularly during the morning rush hour. Prior to the timing change, traffic seemed to flow much more efficiently. If possible, I would appreciate it if the signal timing could be reviewed and adjusted to more closely match its previous operation. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, David Taylor

Hi, apologies if this isn’t the correct place for this, but I need to express my concern. Over the last year or so, I’ve taken more of an interest in City Council meetings and have been watching them on CATS when I can. I’ve noticed an odd…phenomenon(?). From what I’ve observed, council members more or less attack (sorry for lack of better term) city-hired consultants when they’re presented with information that they don’t agree with. Tonight’s community survey results being the latest example. It almost seemed like multiple members of council were suggesting that a firm be hired based on their ability to provide the data they preferred, rather than proven surveying methods. Again, this may just be me, but the aggressive questioning and more or less insulting of the “expert” was very off-putting. It happened with Hopewell presentations, too. Why does council feel the need to attack and then soap box? Everything feels knee-jerk and emotion based. I just wish there was more level-headed, unbiased conversation in these meetings. Like, these are the people making decisions for their voters but so many of their speeches are about them personally and may mention constituents, but in a very flippant way (if that makes sense). Anyway, it’s just concerning to me. These people are supposed to be representatives of the residents of Bloomington and therefore Bloomington itself, yet do not hesitate to make offensive comments to people hired to ultimately help the city become better. At what point does Bloomington just get the reputation of no one wanting to work with/for us because council is more or less abusive if they aren’t given information/data they agree with? Sorry if this just comes off as a rant—I truly hope it finds its way to some welcoming ears and eyes. And maybe, just maybe, inspires some change. I will use my singular vote each election cycle and hope for the best, in the meantime.
Deborah and Tapp intersection lights are not working properly. They change color way too fast and I think the motion sensor is inaccurate to when cars get to the intersection. PLEASE take a look at it and fix the timing
I live at 837W 6th Street at the corer of W 6th and the 200 block of Waldron. There is a Maple tree on the City side of the sidewalk whose branches a hanging over the sidewalk such that walkers have to duck or go around as they walk by. It needs to be trimmed. Thank you, Gracia Valliant

I submitted a request for street repairs on Azalea lane this Spring due to significant damage due to school traffic in the neighborhood, especially at the intersection of Azalea and Wylie Farm Road. This is the intersection where a lot of people turn on and off Azalea to go to Bloomington south. I received a response that there were plans to repave all of Azalea Ln this summer. It is now the end of summer and there has been no work on Azalea so I just wanted to check in on this. Thank you! Thanks!
