Why does the city not enforce its rules on clearing snow from sidewalks, through fines? I understand that old people in residential areas can't always clear snow. But I'm talking about businesses. I tried to walk on the sidewalk up Walnut from Hillside to 2nd street today on the east side of the street (1/27), it was not possible. There are a ton of businesses here who do not follow the rules, and it's a huge hazard because now we have to walk on the street itself, which is crazy busy. I mean you, Elkins Properties, I mean you, auto dealership, I mean you, Btown Smoketime, and even the post office! Why are these people not fined? The are businesses, cleaning the sidewalk it a part of doing business, they should be held accountable. Thank you for your attention

The entire sidewalk in front of the "Cityside by Alexa" apartments is completely unshoveled, as of late this afternoon. That is the north side of 3rd Street and the west side of Washington Street.

It appears that the Firestone Auto Store has used the public sidewalk as a dumping ground for snow removed from their parking lot. This afternoon the sidewalk was covered to a depth of about 4 feet. When I complained to the only employee inside their store, he was quite dismissive. These are the kinds of people who view pedestrians as subhuman. Please fine the bastard.

The alley at the end of my townhouse building is not plowed and it is a fire hazard because no cars can exit and no one can get through. I called our leasing agent, Omega, and they said that it is not their responsibility to plow that area. They did plow the parking lot portion, but they said that that alley is the responsibility of the city of Bloomington. We know that you are dealing with a lot with the snowstorm, but we wanted to bring it to your attention because we are not able to leave our parking area.

On the north side of E. 19th Street – from N. Walnut Street to N. Dunn Street – almost every sidewalk is either completely unshoveled or shoveled so poorly that walking safely is very difficult. Several of these property owners were already warned during the last large snowfall. PLEASE FINE THEM.

Please please please clear off some of the metered parking between 2nd and 3rd streets. I had to park blocks away from my residence, then will have to walk every day in the freezing cold at 5am to get to my vehicle until there are enough spots there.
