I had sent in a request on 5/19/25 Case #202787 reporting that Olive Street needs a concrete curb installed. Due to the excessive rainfall this has caused flooding issues for 1502 S. Olive and the house on the corner of Hillside and Olive (1144 E. Hillside Dr.). I was informed that this was on the paving list and there was plans for an asphalt curb. I called on 6/9/25 and spoke to the Engineering dept. (Iris) about installing a concrete curb instead of asphalt. There is already a partial concrete curb that runs past 1502. It needs to have a concrete curb all the way up the hill so that rain will not flood into the driveway and along the house of 1502, plus it runs past the curb into the yard of 1144 E. Hillside causing flooding in the basement. They have a sump pump now, but it's old and could quit at any time. It's already August and there hasn't been any kind of activity on this street. Do you have an estimated date as to when the street will be paved and the curb installed? Also, there is a construction sign in the yard of 1144 E. Hillside that has been there all summer and would like it to be moved. Thank you for any information you can provide!

When the curb between the bike lane and car lane was reconstructed gaps were left in the pavement. Generally the pavement repair was not done to the standard usually expected of Bloomington roads.

A back tire on my car was completely blown out tonight driving down High Street between Maxwell & Covenanter. The pot holes along that stretch are REDICULOUS!!! They were all filled with water due to rain so I couldn't see them and I almost lost control of my vehicle when my tire went into a deep one. My car was forced onto the sidewalk. I could have hit someone walking there! SOMETHING MUST BE DONE TO REPAIR THAT STREET!! It will cost me over $800 to get my car towed and new tire + installation. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION!

The Shalom driveway is CITY PROPERTY and there is a sinkhole very close to the gas meter. My prior report was closed all ready. Does that mean someone has been out and determined that it is not a safety issue? Thank you.

Very deep pothole in front of Fairview School. I tried to avoid it in heavy rain but hit the edge and it gashed the sidewall of my tire. This is dangerous for parents dropping off children and for buses. Needs to be repaired before school starts.

Hello, I submitted a report earlier this year about the condition of the street I live on and although some of the potholes were filled, our neighborhood street is in much need of multiple repairs. I heard through the grapevine that our street is perhaps on a list for repaving and have been assuming that's why no further efforts have been made to fix the many ruts and crumbling bits. Can someone please let me know if in fact we are going to get our street repaved this summer and if not, please, please do something about the terrible conditions particularly at the intersection of Wylie Farm and Azalea.
