Other: On Saturday, November 22, 2025, during the farmers market this morning, I observed at least 3 different kids on electric motorcycles traveling at a high rate of speed along the B-Line Trail through Switchyard Park. The motorcycles are not e-bikes as they appear to have no crank arms for pedals and the kids are not pedaling. They are racing through the park on the trails with complete disregard for the safety of others. There was also a kid on a gasoline powered motorcycle riding on the B-Line Trail. Can the city police enforce the illegal riding of motorcycles, electric or otherwise, on the trails in town? The use of electric motorcycles on the trails should not be permitted.

Yes, enforcement authority exists because the prohibition of motorized vehicles on trails is codified in city ordinance (Ordinance 11-18), violations are not just “guidelines” they’re legal prohibitions. That gives police the legal basis to stop and cite riders. If you continue to witness this behavior, report it to non-emergency BPD and please try to document it with video or photo evidence to aid follow-up enforcement.
