Parks & Playgrounds:

Other: Accessibility issue. One of the sections of covered tables at Switchyard Park is blocked off. The other side is open, but there are no wheelchair accessible table on that side. I can’t sit at any of the available tables. The other seating area needs to stay open during Food Truck Friday, or you need to move some accessible tables to the other side. ATTN Michael Shermis

There are 3 other accessible picnic tables that were available and 2 accessible spots at the Bosque tables. Emailed to let Karin know the locations of the other accessible seating options for the future.

Thank you for the feedback. Friday night was one of the rare times when the picnic shelter had a reserved use. The concert event sponsors were allowed exclusive use of the shelter. Without their sponsorship, there would have been no concert. There are two accessible picnic tables in the shelter. I'm sorry you weren't able to use those accessible tables. There are three other accessible picnic tables--one at the spray pad and one each at the gravel 'triangles' in the Pavilion Lawn. There are also two accessible spots at the Bosque (the long green communal tables next to the shelter). I realize these other spots may have been in use. I only point them out to show that we do have multiple accessible seating options besides the picnic shelter. There's no more than three or four exclusive reserved uses of the picnic shelter. I hope if you stop by on one of those days you will be able to find a spot at the other accessible tables. Hsiung Marler marlerh@bloomington.in.gov

Thanks for this report - this is something we can keep in mind if there are future events of this nature. There are some of the green tables that have openings for accessibility as well. Passing this along to our Switchyard manager.
