Project Details:

The East Third Street Protected Bike Lane Phase 2 project seeks to improve the separation between vehicle traffic and bicycle traffic on East Third Street. This project will build upon the Phase 1 project by providing additional traffic separation barriers and delineators along East Third Street between South Indiana Avenue and South Rose Avenue.

 

Project Timeline:

  • Design: 2024
  • Bid: Release Date December 2nd and opening date is December 16th 2024
  • Construction: Early 2025
  • The project was awarded to Milestone Contracting LP for $107,500.00

 

Public Input:

The public can provide feedback or ask questions by reaching out to the project contacts below.

The proposed design will be reviewed by the Bicycle & Pedestrian Safety Commission at one of their regularly scheduled meetings in late 2024.

Bidding Information

The bid documents and plan set for the East 3rd Street Protected Bike Lane Phase 2 has been posted to the City's Procurement Portal at the following link-

Bids are to be submitted in proper form, as described in the “Instructions to Bidders”. Bids will be received, at or before 12:00 pm EST on Monday, December 16th, 2024. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 12:00 pm EST Monday, December 16th, 2024 in the Council Chambers of City Hall at the Showers Building, 401 N. Morton Street, Bloomington, Indiana. Any Bids received after the designated time will not be accepted.

Bids will be reviewed and the award may be made at the December 17th, 2024, regular meeting of the Board of Public Works which will be held in the Council Chambers of City Hall at the Showers Building, 401 N. Morton Street, Bloomington, Indiana, and via Zoom using the following link: https://bloomington.in.gov/boards/public-works, or a subsequent meeting of the Board of Public Works.
