Project Summary:
This project shall include, but is not limited to, the construction of curb ramps, curbs and sidewalks at five intersections along east 2nd St. The installation of a new storm inlet, and pipe is included in this project.
The project is planned to be entirely within existing City right of way.
Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2026. Please be aware the responsibility for the maintenance of the sidewalk and tree lawn (the area between the edge of the road and the private property line) falls to the adjacent property owner in accordance with the City of Bloomington Municipal Code (BMC). BMC Section 12.24.030 and Section 6.06.050 describe the requirement of the adjacent property owner to perform maintenance including leaf raking and grass mowing. BMC Section 12.24.040 describes the requirement of adjacent property owners to remove any vegetation obstructing a sidewalk. BMC Section 6.07.010 describes the requirement of adjacent property owners to clear snow and ice from the sidewalk. BMC Section 12.04.010 describes the requirement of adjacent property owners to perform any long term maintenance required to keep the sidewalk and tree lawn in repair.
