401 N Morton St #250

Our cul de sac becomes a lake every time we have a hard rain. We have complained about this for years & the resolution your engineers came up with were 2 seeds in th Our cul de sac N Feeds old c Our cul de sac, South side of N Feerwood CT turns into a lake every time we have a hard rain! Your people decided to put 2 large sewers in the curbs on Rose wood Dr which does no good! Now because someone at the city has decided NOT to clean streets, its even worse because all the debris is now in our street. I would appreciate for someone with common sense to help relieve this problem.

Drainage or Runoff

4100 E Cambridge DR

Case Date:
5/16/2026

Ongoing issue at the intersection of Cambridge Drive and Sheffield. The pavement on East Cambridge Drive has been deteriorating for many years. The road has only been patched for the past two decades rather than fully repaved, and the surface continues to break down. Large amounts of loose debris wash into the storm drains during rainstorms. The drains frequently become clogged, and the street often floods as a result. This picture is from a week ago but the drains are even more blocked as of today.

We have an area right next to some storm drain manhole covers where a section of ground has fallen in. This area is starting to cave in under the roadway as well.

A hole has opened up in the ditch in front of my house, though I'm not sure if it is on my property, my neighbor's, or if it is in the city right of way. It's close to the street. It's about 18" wide and a little more than 24 in. deep. I don't know if the hole extends laterally under the street or in another direction. Please lmk if you need any additional info or if I should direct this to a different dept. Thanks!

This issue was reported last year, taken up by a team of city employees, who communicated a plan would be shared when formed related to the fix. All follow-up inquiries through email and phone have been left unanswered. The stormwater management in the Hoosier Acres neighborhood on Brownridge rd. is insufficient east to west for the majority of the roadway on either side.

Multiple locations across town

Case Date:
4/28/2026

Third Street underneath the B-Line Trail bridge. Kirkwood and Dunn. Indiana Avenue between Kirkwood and 7th. The three-way intersection of E Moores Pike, S Sare, and College Mall Rd. 7th St by the IMU. The IU campus around Ballantine. Dozens of alleyways and backyards. What do all of these places have in common? Flooding. They flood when it storms. I don't mean when it rains a bit, and I'm not talking about those rare events when it rains for days and we have unanticipated flooding (like in 2019 and 2021). I mean when it storms and we get heavy rain. Dozens of places in Bloomington become impassable. These areas have flooded out for years - ESPECIALLY that part of Third Street under the B-Line bridge. That seems to flood whenever we get more than just a drizzle of rain. And it's right next to that construction for the shiny new skyline bridge and convention center add-on. I recognize that drawing in additional funding through the use of the convention center is appealing for the city. That said, it's always amazed me how the city seems to focus on construction projects while completely disregarding the abysmal state of the stormwater drainage/runoff system in various parts of town. It's not like this is a new issue. I can only imagine how frustrating it will be for those visiting town to visit the convention center, only to get stuck there because the street right next to it flooded out. Again. I know it would be a massive undertaking, both in terms of cost and time. I won't pretend to know the ins-and-outs of infrastructure design and improvement. All I know is that I have to plan an alternate route to get through town whenever it rains enough, and it's happened enough that I know which parts of town to avoid.
