the section of painted bike lane on washington between 3rd and 2nd St's seems to have been removed. Maybe it just faded slowly and I'm just noticing it?
Not that the painted line does anything anyway, but I'm just curious if something new is happening here.
thanks!

Bike lanes on N. Smith Rd.need to be swept. The south bound lane from the Short Stop to Grandview
Is particularly bad - full of yard waste, road debris, small bits of gravel, etc. Near the top of the hill, where the 14 foot sign is, there is a bush growing over the lane and face-slapping vegetation hanging down over the lane. I’m wondering if there is any regular schedule for sweeping bike lanes? At best, it seems this one gets swept about once a year. Sweeping the hill every couple of months wouldn’t be too often. The bike lane is narrower than recommended width to begin with. It gets really dangerous when we have to ride near the white lane (or sometimes in the car lane). The painted lines make drivers believe everything is ok as long as they stay between their lines and they don’t realize how closely they are passing vulnerable bicyclists. I’m sorry I don’t have pictures of the bike lane. But it should be easy to see what I’m writing about, especially if you are on a bicycle.

According to John Garzee’s response to Ureport #210034, “Cyclists traveling east-west are not being detected at the signal, so they have to use the pedestrian push button to get a green. The current equipment does not reliably detect bikes, and fixing this would require upgrading the detection system. We’ve noted the location, but until funding is available for that upgrade, the signal will not consistently turn green for people biking.”
In light of this situation, are there resources available to make the pedestrian beg button accessible to cyclists? It is currently impossible for a cyclist to press the button without getting off the bike and walking to the sidewalk.

When waiting at the light to cross College Mall on Covenanter coming from the west, the light will not change if you are a cyclist waiting at the intersection and no car is behind you. This has been the case for years. My only solution has been to go through the red light after cars are done turning and hope for the best. This is a greenway route, so I hope this can be improved as soon as possible.
