The resurfaced street on W 6th St from N Rogers St to N Morton St is scheduled for pavement markings on June 10 and June 11 by the contractor.
Other: I was struck by a car June 2 about 8 a.m. as I was crossing 6th St on the B Line. I was about 3 steps into the intersection when it happened. A young man helped me up. I’m not ready to relive the event, so I won’t go into details now. My daughter came to take me to ER. I am getting much better and continuing to walk on the BLine with great caution. The intersection f 6th and the B Line is not marked well. Some days the pedestrian walking sign is in the middle of the street, some days not!!!! I’ve seen women with strollers walking across there without looking, bicyclists going across, kids on electric scooters… all thinking cars are suppose to stop, as has been the case for many years. Please do something about signage and white lines immediately before someone is killed.

Hi Susan, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I'm very sorry to hear you were hit and glad you are doing better. This street was resurfaced a few weeks ago and I believe the Street Dept has plans to restripe the crosswalk and reinstall the ped crossing sign within the coming weeks. Engineering is looking at how to improve sightlines for pedestrians here as well, which would result in safer crossing. I am transferring this report to Street Dept for information on the timeline for repainting the crosswalk. All the best, David Brantez ([email protected]) Alternative Transportation Coordinator
