Musical Acts Invited to Apply to Perform in 2024 Outdoor Concert Series

Bloomington, Ind.—Bloomington Parks and Recreation is seeking performers to apply to participate in the 2024 Performing Arts Series of concerts in city parks.

Applications will be accepted online at bloomington.in.gov/concerts through Jan. 19, 2024.

Performers are selected by a jury consisting of members of the local arts community. Applications are evaluated by type and quality of performance, musician/band availability, past performance record, and cost.

Venues include Switchyard Park, 1601 S. Rogers St.; Waldron, Hill and Buskirk Park, 331 S. Washington St.; Peoples Park, 501 E. Kirkwood Ave.; and Bryan Park, 1001 S. Henderson St.

Applications are also used to select performers for Parks and Recreation special events, including the Holiday Market held annually on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

To receive full consideration, applications must be received no later than Jan. 19, although applications will be accepted until all performance dates are filled. Booking takes place in late January through February.

Bloomington Parks and Recreation has a long history of hosting live music in city parks, and of showcasing local musical talent. The Performing Arts Series provides many accessible venues for outdoor performances, and promotes music as a way for local residents to experience different musical cultures and to bring neighbors together.
