Frank Southern Ice Arena Opens Oct. 13 for the 2023-24 Season

Bloomington, Ind.—The Frank Southern Ice Arena, 2100 S. Henderson St., opens to the public Oct. 13 with the first general admission public skating of the 2023-24 season from 12-2:30 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m.

General admission public skating takes place daily only during scheduled times: Monday through Friday from 12-2:30 p.m.; Fridays from 7-9 p.m.; Saturdays from 1:30-3 p.m., 7-9 p.m. (Lunar Skating), and 9:15-11 p.m. (Night Owl Skating); and Sundays from 3-5 p.m.

Admission is $6 per person, plus $3 for skate rental. Ages five years and younger are admitted free.

According to ice arena manager Dee Tuttle, Bloomington Blades youth hockey and Bloomington Blades high school hockey teams, as well as the Bloomington Figure Skating Club and Indiana University hockey teams, have held pre-season practices and games at the ice arena, known locally as "The Frank," since late September.
