Creation of Building Trades Park Master Plan Begins with Public Meeting Sept. 28

Bloomington, Ind.—The City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department invites community members to a public meeting to kick off the Building Trades Park Master Plan on Sept. 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers inside City Hall, 401 N. Morton St. in Bloomington.

Building Trades Park is located 619 W. Howe St., just north of the site of the former IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

Beech Grove, Ind.-based landscape architecture firm Mader Design will lead the master plan process.

Parks and Recreation is seeking input for the design team to develop plans for the future of Building Trades Park. Future public meetings will be held to review preliminary plans, and to collect additional community feedback.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the Master Plan public input meeting in person, or via Zoom; visit the Building Trades Park website after 3 p.m. on Sept. 28 for a Zoom link to attend the meeting and provide comments virtually.

Following the public input meeting on Sept. 28, links to an online comment form will be available on the Building Trades Park website to collect additional feedback through Oct. 15, 2023.
