City of Bloomington Seeking Community Input on Climate Change Concerns and Social Vulnerabilities through Survey

Bloomington, Ind. - The City of Bloomington through its Department of Economic and Sustainable Development (the City) is inviting community members to participate in a survey aimed at gathering valuable insights regarding climate change concerns and social vulnerabilities. The survey is a vital part of our ongoing efforts to update the comprehensive Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment that was completed in 2020.

As a city committed to environmental sustainability and the well-being of its residents, understanding and addressing the impacts of climate change is of utmost importance. The Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment aims to identify the specific vulnerabilities and risks associated with climate change in Bloomington, including extreme weather events, heatwaves, and flooding. With a commitment to fostering resilience and adapting to climate change, the City works collaboratively with residents, businesses, and organizations to create a sustainable and livable community.

By gathering input from community members, the City will be better able to assess the social and environmental vulnerabilities within our community. The feedback will help the City develop effective strategies to enhance resilience, adapt to climate-related challenges, and prioritize the needs of the community.

To access the survey, please visit https://polco.us/se58d9. All residents are encouraged to participate. The survey will close on October 1, 2023.

Together, community members and the City can create a resilient and climate-ready Bloomington for future generations. The City appreciates the time and participation of those who complete the survey.
