New Parking Area at Goat Farm Park; Road Closures Can be Followed Online; and Road Resurfacing Continues

Bloomington, Ind. – Numerous infrastructure improvement projects are underway this season to advance community goals, including safety, sustainability, accessibility, equity, economic vitality, and quality of life in Bloomington. The City will provide regular public updates on a range of these improvements as they progress.

PARKS & RECREATION

The new parking area at the Goat Farm, 2000 E Winslow Rd., is now open for public use. The parking area is part of the overall enhancements to the Goat Farm, which will be renamed Rogers Family Park in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 27. The new parking area includes a total of 10 parking spaces (four accessible) and is constructed of permeable pavers.

Visitors should park only in designated parking spaces and not in the Winslow-High-Rogers roundabout or in any other non-marked areas. If the parking area is full, additional parking to access the Goat Farm and Jackson Creek Trail is available at nearby Sherwood Oaks Park, 1600 E Elliston Dr., or at Olcott Park, 2300 E Canada Dr. City parks and trails are open daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Crews will be placing the finishing touches on new Goat Farm amenities over the coming weeks.

ENGINEERING

Due to an Indiana University project, there will be a road closure and sidewalk closures in the area of Law Ln and Fee Ln. Vehicular traffic will be diverted to E 10th St and E 17th St. Pedestrian traffic will be diverted within this area as well. This project is for steam facility upgrades that IU needs to have done. The dates are projected for May 15th through June 30th.

Landmark Urban Construction will have E 14th St between N Dunn St and N Walnut St closed for sidewalk reconstruction and road reconstruction due to The Standard apartment complex construction. This will be done in phases, but it is best to avoid the area if possible. N Walnut St, E 15th St, and N Indiana can be used as detour streets. The dates are projected for May 8th through July 21st.

CenterPoint Energy will have Miller Pipeline replace a gas line along E 13th St between N Indiana Ave and Fee Ln. There is also a small section of replacement on E 14 St between N Park Ave and N Woodlawn Ave. There will be some lane closures along the work area with flaggers in place. The dates are projected for May 15th through June 30th.

Road closures can be followed on inRoads. This public website tracks and publishes road, sidewalk, and parking status information. The information shared on the inRoads service includes closings, lane reductions, noise permits, and parking reservations. It provides not only current information about road events but future planned events as well. Please visit at: bloomington.in.gov/inroads/events
