City Reports Three New COVID-19 Cases in Past Week

Bloomington, Ind.–Three City workers have reported positive results of COVID-19 laboratory tests since the April 8 update, including one Parks & Recreation (Parks) employee, one Utilities (CBU) employee, and one City Hall employee.

 

Details of the case are as follows: 

 

One Parks employee, who was asymptomatic, received a positive COVID-19 test result on April 12. There were no close contacts.

 

One City Hall employee started experiencing symptoms on April 8 and received a positive COVID-19 test result on April 9. There were no close contacts.

 

One CBU employee started experiencing symptoms on April 11 and received a positive COVID-19 test result on April 12. Close contacts have been notified. Two members of the public were also identified as close contacts, but contact information was unavailable.   

 

Including today’s report, 301 positive COVID-19 viral test results have been reported since the start of the pandemic by City workers, including those employed by the municipal corporations that operate the water utility (CBU), transit system (Bloomington Transit), and public housing (Bloomington Housing Authority). Additionally, COVID-19 was listed among the causes of death of one City worker.
