Water Main Break at Walnut Street and Grimes Lane

Bloomington, Ind. – An abandoned 2” City of Bloomington Utilities water service line was hit during construction taking place near the intersection of Walnut Street and Grimes Lane. The incident damaged the larger main, located under Walnut Street, to which the line was connected.

Work to repair the damage has already begun and is anticipated to continue for several hours.  

Traffic on Walnut Street between 1st Street and Hillside Drive will be redirected. Crews are on hand to assist motorists with alternate routes.
