Request for Zoning and Code Compliance Review – @826_shows Pop-Up : I am writing to request that the city monitor and review the operations of a recurring pop-up music venue publicized via Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/826_shows/.The venue operates out of a residential neighborhood, hosts public live music events, and charges an entry fee. This raises several municipal and state compliance concerns that I would like the city to address proactively with the operators: Zoning Use: The operation of a commercial, ticketed entertainment venue appears to conflict with residential zoning designations and the strict limitations placed on Home Occupations under the Bloomington UDO. State Fire Safety: Under Indiana Code § 22-14-3, public entertainment events that charge admission require a state Amusement and Entertainment Permit, which generally cannot be issued for Class 2 residential structures due to life-safety codes. Neighborhood Impacts: Recurring assemblies of this scale present consistent risks regarding the 24/7 noise ordinance (BMC Chapter 14.09) and residential occupancy limits. uReport Case #210299 Attn: Jeff Yutmeyer I want to re-open this case because when I went to the rear of my yard this afternoon, I saw that Xfinity/Comcast, cut the cable from my house and let it drop into the thorn bushes. This presents more of a fire hazard because there is a layer of dry leaves on the ground; the cable is still attached to the electrical pole.
