I live in the Allen Valley subdivision off West Allen Street. Many mornings - especially around 7:30-8:30 - there is a lot of speeding traffic of cars coming off W Bloomfield Road onto Allen Street. Our access to Allen Street is at the bottom of a hill, and cars will often come from Allen Street going at least 40 mph. There's not much time to brake going that fast if someone is pulling out of our subdivision, and I've had a couple close encounters leaving in the mornings. Now with school starting, a school bus may be doing a pick-up and stopped at our addition and a car coming in fast may cause an accident.
The same thing can happen coming off Ransom Lane onto Allen Street as well - the hill obstructs the view of cars turning off Ransom onto Allen.
I travel east on Allen Street every weekday morning. It seems a lot of the traffic goes to Novo Nordisk, so I'm guessing the increased traffic is from the employees headed to a morning shift.
I'm wondering if an officer could occasionally come and watch that traffic on weekday morning to help slow things down.
Thank you!

Coming from Woodlawn, heading towards the intersection with Hawthorne and Ballantine, there are several willow (?) trees that have such low-hanging branches that they hit pedestrians and cyclists in the face.

On Saturday, August 2, 2025, we went downtown to have lunch with friends. We parked on the north side of E. 4th Street a half block past Indiana Avenue. I stepped out of the car on the passenger side and stepped into a grass covered hole approximately 5 inches deep by 25 inches across . It had been mowed in such a manner to make it appear that the ground was level. I sustained a sprained left ankle plus a fracture of lateral malleolus of left fibula. I will be in an air cast for an indeterminate amount of time followed by physical therapy. I could only attach one photo, but, we took several more photos of the area. Was the City notified of this area before August 2nd? If not, you are now on notice and hopefully the hole can be filled in before someone else is injured.

I’m following up on 204624, which I reported last week. I was happy to see that a railing had been installed with 48 hours of my filing the complaint, and I know my complaint had nothing to do with the railing getting installed. I’m asking that the city pay more attention to these uneven sidewalks and require property owners to mark them with paint, cones or, in the best case scenario, railings. The uneven sidewalks seem to be likely a violation of the ADA. There was a similar situation in front of Sweet Greens before they finally installed a railing, and there is still a similar situation in front of CVS on Kirkwood. Thank you.
