Sidewalk & Curb Complaints

100 S College Ave # 220

Case Date:
6/11/2025

I don't have an actual issue. I witnessed this vehicle driving over the curb and into this flower bed on the evening of 6/2/25 (~5:38 pm). They left the scene soon after. I just wanted to share my knowledge with the city in case they are looking for the person responsible for damaging the flower bed.

Trails

Clear Creek Trail

Case Date:
6/11/2025

The entire length of the Clear Creek Trail from Tapp Road to Church Lane needs serious tree trimming work. The number of branches obstructing the path is quite high all throughout the trail. It's dangerous as people dodge branches.

Excessive Growth

597 E Atwater AVE

Case Date:
6/11/2025

Potential fire hazard caused by plant overgrowth. Severely overgrown grass/plants between the public sidewalk and the Henderson Crossing apartments (the building closest to the intersection of Atwater and Henderson). Several are long enough to drape over the sidewalk. There are outdoor AC/condenser units next to the apartment building, but they're almost completely covered by the grass/weeds. Some of the weeds are taller than the condenser units. General recommendation is to keep 1-3 feet of clearance around these units to prevent objects from blocking the intake for these units. Maybe there's some sort of guard preventing the plants from actually blocking the intake, but I couldn't see any - I only knew the units were there because I could hear them, they're almost completely concealed by overgrowth. (Info current as of early this morning.)

Street & Traffic Signs

600 and 700 blocks of Eagleson Ave.

Case Date:
6/11/2025

Cars and buses regularly speed on this street, often exceeding 35 miles per hour. Due to their speed, they are unable to stop at the stop signs—including city buses. I am requesting that a speed limit sign be installed, ideally one that displays drivers’ actual speed (similar to those used in school zones). Our street and its connection to First Street have effectively become an unofficial bypass for east–west and west–east traffic, including city buses. This is a residentially zoned area with pedestrians, cyclists, children, pets, and wildlife. The sidewalks are narrow, and vehicles—especially buses—traveling at high speeds pose a serious risk. I have personally witnessed both buses and cars run stop signs, even when pedestrians, families with baby carriages, and cyclists are present. The cars/buses still don't stop and merely drive around the "obstacles." At a minimum, a visible speed limit sign should be installed—preferably one that tracks and displays speeds.
