Missing sidewalk, muddy mess, lots of foot traffic.
The walking bridge on Second Street between Rose Ave and Anita was damaged by a fallen tree about a month ago and has been closed since then. To walk to work, I have to invade a neighbor's privacy by walking through her yard. I have noticed quite a few people (including an elderly one today) walking on the street, which is very tight traffic-wise. Does the city have plans to fix it? A second concern is one I've asked about several times over the years. Since I've heard about the plan to reconfigure the bike lanes on 3rd Street beginning on Rose, is it possible to put a crosswalk there (across 3rd on Rose). I have found this also to be a hazardous place to navigate on my walk to work in the IU School of Education on North Rose Ave. Many thanks for your attention to both questions! Sidewalk on Northside of 14th Street. Just east of Madison Street. This is the South side of property at 312 West 14th Street. Maple tree planted too close to the sidewalk blocking half of the sidewalk. This is a brand new sidewalk that we just spent significant sum of money on. Please see to it that it is clear. Transportation plan insists that the sidewalk is clear of any and all obstructions.
Said walk on south side of 14th Street just east of Woodburn avenue. This is the north side of the property at 922 North Woodburn. Completely obstructed by Bush going from the side. Also, it's supposed to be a 5-ft wide sidewalk but the minimum clear area is 3 ft wide because the hillside has come down on the sidewalk. That was a mistake when the house was built. It should have been rectified then. But maybe it should be rectified now.
The trees and bamboo are blocking the sidewalk.
Accessibility issue Foliage encroachment of the sidewalk. My wife, who is blind, has to use this path to get to Henderson.
Plants, bushes etc. blocking sidewalks so that pedestrians must go out into the street to pass this property.
The sidewalk on Smith Road is collapsing where it crosses over a creek/drain just north of East Moore's, between the two neighborhoods
