Ordinance 23-09

This ordinance approves of changes to Title 2 ("Administration and Personnel") of the Bloomington Municipal Code in order to create and empower a joint Bloomington/Monroe County Human Rights Commission, which will replace the City and County individual Human Rights Commissions. Note: At the May 3, 2023 Regular Session, the Council adopted Amendment 01, which added language to specify the initial staggered terms for the seven members of the Bloomington/Monroe County Human Rights Commission, and Amendment 02, which clarified that one of the powers and duties of the Commission is to determine whether probable cause exists to believe that discrimination in violation of the Bloomington Municipal Code or in violation of the Monroe County Code has occurred.
