Activities for all ages will take place in and around the Waterfall Shelter and include hikes, scavenger hunts, and hands-on fun! Nature Play Days is a state-wide initiative from the Indiana Children and Nature Network to encourage families to get outdoors to play and explore. Register for free to be notified by email with event details or any cancellations due to weather.There will be two guest organizations joining us in 2026.The Monroe County Public Library will be back with their reading nook. Families can sit and enjoy picture books about nature under a shady tree.WildCare will be joining us for the first time. Did you know that just like us, all animals, whether wild or domestic, like to spend time just having fun? WildCare will have a booth where you can meet Eastern Box Turtles up-close and learn their stories. They will have a craft area dedicated to building enrichment toys for their animal ambassadors with a few simple supplies you can find in your recycling. Please save up your paperboard and empty paper towel tubes and bring them along to create these important toys. WildCare Inc. was formed in the spring of 2001 and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that only runs on donations, volunteers, and very few paid staff.
