Community Events Assistant Sound Technician

Responsibilities

Assist with the sound equipment set-up, operation, and tear-down, assist with the maintenance and repairs of sound equipment, assist with special events, cultural arts programs, and other special recreational services, maintains positive interaction with the public under the general direction of a full-time staff member.

Education

High school education or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Some college preferred.

Experience/Special Skills

  • Incumbent must possess working knowledge of sound equipment operation.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, self-motivated, and have the ability to follow oral and written direction, and be capable of performing physically demanding work.
  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude and team mentality, and have the ability to communicate and work well with coworkers and the public.
  • Must be creative, resourceful, and flexible; must be self-motivated, energetic, and patient.
  • Must possess or obtain current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications within 30 days of hire.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.

Working Conditions

Employee performs duties outdoors, in varying conditions, with occasional requirements to work in extreme weather, such as high heat and humidity, and low temperatures.

Hours

Part-time hours include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. 3–6 hours a week, April through October. Additional hours may be available throughout the year. Must be able to work flexible hours. Work duties and schedule may vary with the season.

Salary

$16.86 per hour
