Swim Instructor–Bryan Park Pool

Position Description

  • Conducts assigned aquatic classes in a safe, professional manner.
  • Maintains current and accurate records.
  • Fosters good public relations.
  • Takes direction from Aquatics Specialist and Pool Manager.
  • Helps with cleaning and maintains the facility.
  • Enforces rules and safety policies.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Skills and Knowledge

Lifeguard training required; previous guarding experience required. Applicants should be able to swim 300 yards in less than six minutes. Lifeguard certification is required. Lifeguard Certification courses will be offered by Parks and Recreation.

Working Conditions

Employee performs duties in and out of doors, in varying weather conditions, and is periodically exposed to work sites with traffic, noise, dust, and vehicle and equipment fumes.

Hours

Swim lessons are scheduled 9:30 a.m. through 10:45 a.m. on weekdays in June and July.

Salary

$19.85 per hour
