Winslow Sports Complex

A series of purchases of land that makes up Winslow Sports Complex began in 1966. Parcels were purchased from the Winslow family, from John E. Rice, and from the Taylor and Hill families. Winslow Sports Complex construction was completed in 1979.

In 2024, 24 new 34,500 lumen LED bulbs were installed at the Winslow Sports Complex tennis courts. The lights are controlled with a digital time clock to come on only during specific times. A digital timer allows each tennis court to work independently and for a timed duration.

• Ballfields: Four 200' fenced ballfields with lights, one senior baseball field with lights, and one grass playfield with lights. Reserve an outoor sports field or ballfield.
• Features: Hitting tunnels, six tennis courts, one-mile asphalt-surface trail, drinking fountains (available seasonally), playground inside the fenced softball field area north of the parking lot
• Don Martin Fitness Station- purchased in memory of Don Martin by the Bob & Fran Martin Family in 2018. Fitness station is located along the trail near the park's entrance.
• Restroom: All-gender restroom, open daily from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. from April 1-Oct. 1 is located on the south side of the parking lot between the baseball field and soccer field, approximately 120' from the nearest designated accessible parking space on asphalt parking lot and concrete sidewalk.

Parking

• Asphalt parking lot with 342 vehicle spaces + 8 designated accessible vehicle spaces. The parking lot serves visitors to the fitness station located just inside the park entrance off South Highland Avenue, the paved perimeter trail, the softball diamonds on the north side of the park, the soccer and baseball fields on the south side of the park, and the tennis courts on the east side of the park.

Land and Water Conservation Fund

• The construction of Winslow Sports Complex was partially funded by a $1 million Land and Water Conservation Fund grant through the U.S. Department of Interior and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
