About Little Salt Creek Farms

We have Charles and Carolyn Melton to thank for the opportunity to farm this beautiful piece of land. They originally bought the farm in 1978. Their grandson, Greg, spent his childhood days working on the farm with both of his grandparents. When they passed the farm on to our family, Greg knew he wanted to do some things a little differently. After much research and many conversations with friends and family, we decided to transition the farm to organic. It has been a challenge, but it has been worth it to see the improvement of our soil health and to have the ability to grow healthy produce on our farm. We are so excited to share our harvest with you.

People often ask us why garlic. Planting any kind of produce organically makes for several challenges, mostly related to pests and weeds. Garlic has few pests. Also, garlic has a different growing season than most produce. It is planted in the fall and is harvested in the summer. And well, we love food and we love it even more with garlic! Garlic enhances any recipe with its delicious smells and flavors.
