Sidewalk & Curb Complaints

808 N Callery DR

Case Date:
8/17/2026

The side walk on the north end of our property continues to sink, resulting in standing water that discourages use & causes build up of trash & mud & causes a tripping hazard. There is a public drain of some nature in the same area just east of the area that floods. In order for the water not to stand it’s necessary for us to cut a small ditch through the area between the side walk & street for it to drain. When we asked for inspection of it in the past we were told our flower beds were too high. The flower beds are on the same level as surrounding grass & we have not built them up over the years, only planting perennials beneath pines that were there when we purchased the home 8 years ago. There are Callery pear trees in the birm are of the sidewalk which I know are famous for causing destruction around wet areas. Is it possible these trees are the problem? Please look, once again, to see if “fresh eyes” might determine further investigation to be warranted. Thanks for your help albeit likely far in the future with all of the flood destruction you need to attend to urgently. Be careful & take good care.

Traffic Related Complaints

Hillside Dr

Case Date:
8/26/2026

Please do more to control the speed of traffic on Hillside Drive. It's a straight shot between High Street and Henderson, and drivers routinely go 40 miles an hour, including past Templeton school. It is difficult to turn left from Woodlawn onto Hillside going east, and from Highland onto Hillside going west. Visibility isn't great at either intersection -- at Woodlawn because cars pulling into the right turn lane in front of Carlisle block the view to the east, and at Highland because there is not a great sightline to see cars speeding from west to east. This morning, there was an accident with injuries that shut down Hillside at Woodlawn. It was just a matter of time before this happened. The flashing speed signs might be making a small difference, but not enough.

Potholes, Other Street Repair

221 W 2nd ST

Case Date:

Lots of uneven surface and potholes in crosswalk and brick embellishment at the B-Line Trail crossing W 2nd St. What is the timeline for how long the construction project will affect this pedestrian crossing? Cars are not yielding now to the same extent as they were before all the construction. Hard for wheelchair pedestrian to see past the cones to the West to check if cars are coming before crossing. Missing crosswalk stripes painted on the road. Crosswalk across the Wendy's/Kroger parking lot entrance is not wheelchair accessible. I'll attach a pic of that in a different ticket.

Sidewalk Requests

3962 E 10th ST

Case Date:
8/26/2026

Google Maps believes E 10th St is entirely walkable, but in fact there is a stretch from the intersection at N Smith until the sidewalk starts at Fountain Park Apartments without any sidewalk. It is not safe to walk, and it also means many directions given online are dangerous.
