Subject: Complaint Regarding Property at 402 E 1st Street Dear Bloomington Town Department, I am writing to formally report an ongoing issue at the property located at 402 E 1st Street. Early this morning (December 6), while cleaning up trash that had blown into my yard, I noticed excessive garbage left in their backyard. The bags are torn open, and the mess has begun attracting animals; just last week, while I was traveling, several neighbors reported seeing a coyote in the area. This property, which is a rental, has been a recurring source of disruption in our neighborhood. In addition to improper waste disposal, previous incidents have included: • Smoking cannabis openly in the backyard. • Loud parties continuing until 4:00 a.m. • Unauthorized backyard fires without proper safety measures like a firepit. • Failure to maintain the property, such as leaving fallen leaves uncollected. I kindly request the town to investigate these concerns and take appropriate action to address the situation, ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. A gentleman called in and was very angry that the debris and illicit items have not been picked up at Hillinghams on S. Walnut. This debris and illicit material stretches to the school corporation building that is located there. He has contacted the Deputy Mayor and still nothing has been done. A concerned resident called 3400 to let us know that the release at Binford Elementary is not being enforced properly. There are many parents parking in the grass and in the ROW on the street to run in to get their children. This is causing congestion and potential hazards for the safety of the children.

Bob Brown 812-350-5117 Resident stated that there is a Mighty Tough Envirusac full of a toxic looking substance located at 1010 Sherbrook Drive in the greenway between the sidewalk and the street. It has been there approximately 2 weeks.

Homeowner Karin Chestnut states that we cut a tree down that was in the tree plot at her location 2 1/2 years ago. The wood was never picked up. She states that she has attempted multiple times to have this removed. It is now blocking access for the Xfinity company to bury her cable line. She would like someone from the city to come and remove the wood.

Concern Regarding Unusual Activity and Property Conditions Next to My Business Dear City Official, Good Morning, I am reaching out to express my concern about some recent developments at the property located next to my business at 811 N Walnut St. Since new residents moved in, there has been a noticeable increase in unusual activity that is negatively impacting the appearance and environment around my business. Specifically, the residents have been leaving trash overflowing into the alley, some of which is spilling over onto my property. This not only creates a messy and unsanitary environment but also makes a poor impression on my clients as they arrive at my business. Additionally, there are two cars at the property: one that does not appear to be running and another that is frequently being worked on. There are also cars frequently pulling up in the alley, where individuals from the house briefly interact with the vehicles before returning inside. The overall condition of the property and the ongoing activity is concerning, and I would appreciate your assistance in addressing this issue. As a business owner, it is important to me that the surrounding environment reflects positively on the area, and I believe this situation is detracting from that.
