New apartments being build with very poor drainage caused new flooding on park square drive at enterence of complex. Never had flooding in the area before and water runs right down new enterence into drain that is being clogged with mud from construction and is not big enough for area. Flooding caused many new potholes on said road.
This pond scum was not present from 2019 until this year. Regency multi family purchased the land about 2 years ago. Concerned about lawn chemicals and fertilizers in this retention pond which feeds into creek along creekâs edge drive. A Beaver lives here in the past and a rare Duck. Watershed area please enact protective ordinances within 1 mile of Jackson Creek East fork. Minnows & crawdads in Creek
Utilities Department sprayed unknown "pre-treat" chemical on storm water rain garden on Allen St. No notice to adjacent property owners was made. No signage. No posting of what was used. When I confronted them they said it was "not bad". Samuel Arthur, Green Infrastructure Crew" was onsite. Please consult other City departments that do NOT treat with chemicals and manage gardens just fine.
I had a very negative interaction with a Customer Service Representative named Jordan from the City of Bloomington Utilities on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 3:30pm. The employee was incredibly rude and very dismissive.
There is water that smells like sewage bubbling up out of the drainage pipes. I've seen it literally bubbling up as if under pressure so I believe it comes from some kind of underground pipe but I can't be sure. The area is always wet as a result and smells.
City of Bloomington truck 592 is continually parked at a residence on Beechwood Dr. in Ellettsville. This truck looks to be used by an employee for personal use. Numerous city assets have been utilized at this Ellettsville residence in the past including trucks, trailers, and landscaping equipment. Hard to understand why a city asset would be used to commute from Ellettsville to Bloomington and be parked overnight at the residence for longterm use. Seems like fraud and abuse of taxpayer funded resources.
there's a dam in the creek along the back of Then Fields apartments built to feed their fish ponds. It's in a very bad state of disrepair and could fail any day. It's just upstream of a bridge on E.moores that is also in a bad state, if the dam were to fail it could cause the bridge to fail too. Not to mention damage to properties along the same creek, and ecological damage as the ponds would drain. See attached map.
I am writing to bring attention to an issue I am facing as a new homeowner at 909 W Cardinal Ct, Bloomington, IN. There is a runoff in my backyard that originates from a creek in a nearby park. This runoff significantly affects the usability of my property, as I am unable to extend my backyard or fully maintain the lawn beyond my fenced-in area due to flooding. As the homeowner, I am responsible for cleaning and mowing the area on the other side of the fence, but i cannot access this space due to the water accumulation. I have reviewed the blueprint and property lines (LOT 4), and I do not believe there should be a body of water running through my backyard. I am also aware that my neighbors have previously complained about this issue, and I would like to resolve it so that I can fully enjoy and utilize my entire property. I would greatly appreciate your assistance in addressing this matter, as I am paying a substantial mortgage but am unable to fully access my entire property. I believe raw sewage is coming out of B-town International Mart into the gutter on the west side of their parking lot on South Auto Mall Road. Today it is then running into the north side of the intersection of Covenanter and South Auto Mall Rd. I walk past sometimes and have noticed it for a month, but today it is worse and the warm temperatures are making it stink. The folks at the Mart don't answer their phone, so I am letting the city know.
