Commissioner at Transportation Commission meeting on 9/28/2026 requested analysis of street lighting at the intersection of E Covenanter Dr and College Mall Rd. They complained that street lighting on the west side of the intersection is insufficient for safe pedestrian utilization of the intersection. Drivers heading north on College Mall turning left onto Covenanter, and drivers headed east from Covenanter turning right onto College Mall have a difficult time seeing pedestrians in the crosswalk at night or in low-light conditions. Currently there is a street light on the north east corner of the intersection (Location 965 S College Mall Rd, Bloomington, IN 47401 (39.1553, -86.4976)); however, the light does not appear like it was installed to illuminate the corner of the crosswalk in question. The existing light is not impacted by overgrown vegetation. In terms of follow up on this item, if there is any action staff can take on it, I would like to document staff response and the process via uReport and a staff report at a future commission meeting.

Hello, 7 or 8 months ago I asked Xfinity/Comcast to correct a hanging cable of theirs after a storm knock a big tree limb into a telephone pole that took power and other cables out. Everything was repaired by Metronet & the Power Company but Xfinity/Comcast never came. It left a long cable that just hangs on our property is very annoying (and dangerous) when we are working, mowing, playing with grandson, etc. Xfinity/Comcast was contacted (claim #ECM0010285921) to come out and correct it, but they never did. It took a while to talk to a real person and even then it took so much explaining ever & over again through several transfers. You ever try to talk or chat with Xfinity/Comcast when you don't have an account with them? (I do not have an account with them) They ask over & over again for an account number! Very frustrating. After 45 minutes I was able to state my case about the hanging cable, they said they would send someone out but would have to have the "ok" from the City of Bloomington. I don't know what has happen since that day, but nothing has been done about it. I was hoping by emailing you we could get something done about it or help me on how to do so. Resident expresses concerns about lack of sidewalks near senior housing facilities on Walnut Street Pike near Rhorer Road, would like to speak with a staff member about potential installation of a new sidewalk.

We patrol Crestmont area often and find many kids out playing on the side walks and street. There is also a lot of speeding traffic through there. We are requesting signs be put up, especially around the area that the new park is being built. Signs saying to slow down, children at play. We would like signs in several places in Crestmont, as there are many kids everywhere, if possible.

A resident called and complained of trees needing to be cut down and general issues seeing stop/street signs in the area. I believe the area that he is describing is the three-way stop at the back entrance to the CVS parking lot. Trees have apparently become overgrown, making the signs difficult to see.

The sidewalk south of Taylor Ct along Olcott Blvd has about a 1" of sediment on it and needs cleared. There was some ponding occurring on the sidewalk but we shoveled a channel through the tree plot to release the water to the inlet in low point of the road.

I live at 1502 W 12th Street and there is a silver Pontiac Grand Prix out front that belongs to the people who lived at my address before me, I was told I needed to contact the city to have it removed, it appears to have been abandoned. It's taking up too much space and my wife's and my own family don't have anywhere to park when they come visit. Thank you.
