1) There is a large amount of debris from lawn clippings, downed branches, and other general sticks and brush overgrowth collecting along the west side of the alley between 1424 S Walnut and 1423 S Monon Drive. The debris and overgrown brush along the west side has become so bad it is destroying and collapsing the fence along my back yard (1423 South Monon Drive) and also has become a nesting area for animals. 2) There is also a lot of loose large gravel chunks in the road and on the sidewalks along the 100-172 West Hillside Drive block, left over from winter ploughing that is dangerous to vehicle tires and threatening to clog the storm drain at the corner of South Monon and West Hillside.
Hello, I am writing in concern of the spray painted orange bikes popping up around the city, especially regarding the square. These are a part of a marketing strategy for the new fitness gym around the College Mall, Orange Theory. My concern is that the locked bikes are taking the spaces on bike racks that could be used for commuters and patrons in particularly convenient and high-traffic areas. This includes bike racks around the square, in front of Yogi's, and there was even one locked to a pole around the Scholar's Inn Bakehouse on 3rd (which seems like another issue). I am hoping the city can possibly speak with Orange Theory about the placement of their marketing devices.
There are "Hilary for Prison" stickers on all 4 light poles heading north on this corner. There also exists the same sticker on the Playful City sign on College Ave near 17th Street. I have tried to remove these myself, but they are stuck on too much for my nails to do anything but chip away at them.
I couldn't find a "street sign" option: On exiting the library parking lot, there needs to be a "one way" or "right turn only" sign. A "right turn only" sign could be placed on the same post as the "exit" sign, just to the right of where cars stop, but the driver would not see it when stopped. Or a "one way" sign could be placed across the street. A painted arrow on the pavement might help, but it would have to be repainted regularly.
In the westbound bike lane on 4th Street, just east of being directly under the walkway above from the parking garage to the mall, there is a growing rough spot in the road. It is just perfectly placed in the bike lane to be a potential problem for a cyclist.
I would like to politely request that that HVAC in the skywalk from the 4th Street parking garage to Fountain Square Mall be repaired. It is fast becoming a tropical sauna experience to walk through there. Thank you, Nels Boerner
Traffic lights on 4th at 4th/College seem mis-timed, at least when I am driving east at 8:30 am. The College Ave lights, in front of Serendipity/Atlas, are red for about 7 seconds before the 4th St light turns green. The same light at 4th/Walnut turns at the expected time. I'm seeing people sneak through 4th/College some mornings because the one-way southbound College Ave traffic is so clearly stopped to our left.
Vegetation blocks north side sidewalk on 8th between College and Walnut.
Given the irregularity of the sidewalk clearing along this area, would it be possible to plow the street all the way to the curb? This would expose the entire bike lane for use by cyclists and (where necessary) pedestrians.
