Mailbox obstruction by city snow removal service. We have not had mail service since the roads were plowed on Jan 26th.
7th St has alternate street side parking. With the recent snowfall, cars on the parked side were boxed in, and snow on the no parking side was pushed onto previously cleared sidewalk, according to my renter. That mean it is full of ice clumps, making it impossible for she or me to remove. Can the city actually remove some of the snow for us - we know the first effort was to clear streets, but it impossible lift for a senior to clear twice the height of packed road snow on the sidewalk.
The temporary sidewalk adjacent to the construction site is blocked by construction barriers. Location is on Walnut Street, just south of 3rd St., on the west side. Thank you.
Construction barrels are narrowing the sidewalk, making it inaccessible to people using wheelchairs. I saw a man in a wheelchair have to turn and go another way because he could not get through. The location is at E. 3rd between College and Walnut, north side. Thank you.
There seems to be a leak at this location. The alley is always wet, or in this weather, icy. The ice extends onto the street. Pedestrians have to walk on the icy or walk on the street, and there’s too much traffic usually to walk in the street. There was a lot of ice there this morning (1/20) when it hasn’t rained or snowed recently, which is why I think there must be a leak from the house. Please fix this unsafe condition. Thank you.
On December 3rd I was traveling on 2nd Street between Rogers and Walker when I got stuck in my wheelchair in front of the old hospital parking garage because the sidewalks were not cleared and the curb cuts were blocked by several inches of snow. When I tried to pass the curb cut I got stuck because none of the curb cuts along that stretch are flush with the ground like they should be. When another pedestrian tried to get me unstuck, I nearly got thrown back into traffic because the curb cuts are at an angle facing traffic. I ended up having to call the police. An officer ended up having to escort me in the street in order to get me where I needed to go because the sidewalks were completely impassible, both on 2nd Street and the side streets. There is absolutely no reason why any pedestrian, wheelchair user or not, should have to go in the street to get where they need to go. The owners of that land have a responsibility to clear the sidewalks when it snows, and maintain the curb cuts and sidewalks. The area is supposed to be redeveloped as part of Hopewell eventually, but it still has to be maintained in the meantime. Leaving it unaddressed is extremely dangerous. Someone is going to get hurt.
There is a white car parked here that was towed in. It does not run and has a flat tire. The wrecker backed it in. It needs to be moved as I'm disabled and my home health people can't park there. Because of this I have to walk thru snow to get to a vehicle. Please move it.
The trash and recycling bins at this location are frequently left out for days after trash pickup. They usually block the sidewalk and impede pedestrians and cause a lack of accessibility for any wheelchair users.
Failed to remove snow from sidewalk. Now solid ice. Very treacherous on a high pedestrian and traffic volume road.
