Hi there - the Habitat for Humanity build on Cottage Grove has a lot of erosion and the drain in front of the property is completely clogged. I connected with someone from Habitat about it at a social gathering a few weeks ago, but I'm not sure it was remembered. It would probably have more heft getting connected by the City. Thanks for all you do - very much appreciate the quick and thorough work of the CBU employees in this area during the recent heavy rains!!!

Location: 1212 S High St (High & Covenanter) Notes: The stormwater conveyance is public, and the wall is in the ROW. Homeowner came to CBU with the following complaint & request: The stone retaining wall next to the ditchline is deteriorating; this is the 2nd failure in the wall due to drainage problems.  Homeowner states that the ditch is in poor condition, not flowing properly, and full of "mud piles", etc which is causing erosion below the wall. He is requesting a call to schedule a time to meet onsite to show staff what is happening and determine what can be done about it. If he is not available by phone, he requests that we knock on the door upon arrival so they are aware of our visit and will walk the site with us. I notified him that most of our staff is currently out of the office, but someone should be able to meet with him on Friday. (He agreed to this potential timeframe.)

Can't get a photo to upload to uReport. There appears to be a minor water leak coming from under the edge of the asphalt at the corner of Bainbridge and Allendale. Curb has been holding water for a while and there seems to be a small but increasing flow.

Mr Foster left a voice message yesterday. He said it has to do with a manifestation of water in his basement/crawl space. It is not coming in from the walls and it comes and goes. He had his water lines changed thinking that was the problem but still occurs. The area becomes muddy and now there's some mold as well. He wants advice on what he can do.

Homeowner at 1251 W Countryside Ln contacted CBU Eng Dept on 5/9/19 @ 1:35pm regarding a drainage concern. Drainage ditch running between his home and the neighboring home to the West is holding water. He is concerned for public safety with mosquitos and such since the water is holding for long periods of time. He would like an Engineer to contact him and meet him on site to see what can be done to correct the problem. Tonia advised the homeowner that the Engineer was not back in the office until 5/13/19. He stated that he understood and that he did not have any immediate concerns about waiting until next week.

There's a storm sewer that is blocked and causing water to run across the road and into our yard. The blockage is on the 1300 block of west 6th Street and our house is 1315 w 6th st

Construction continues without mind to the continued runoff of concrete and dirt. Runoff of concrete that is collected on the sidewalk running parallel to Allen St has not been properly disposed of. The silt fence was not installed in a way that stops runoff from occurring. Mud and other substances are being tracked onto the main driveway because the construction entrance is not being maintained.

The ditch area, and currently un-mowed area on N Hancock Drive on the west edge of Crestmont Park, is CBU Street Department area. In an effort to reduce carbon footprint by mowing this strip seasonally, to decrease stormwater runoff into the overloaded culvert during rain events and to increase sustainability, native tree growth and pollinator habitat, this area could easily be a no-mow area. There are no overhead power lines at risk of native trees growing tall in this area. In addition, during an Adopt-a-Greenspace site survey it was noted invasive Tree of Heaven is growing in several spots along this strip. The Tree of Heaven MUST be chemically controlled and not mowed or more TOH trees will emerge. Crestmont Park and surrounding Crestmont landowners are engaged in supporting their woodland landscapes. Adding a no-mow strip along N Hancock is in keeping with the surrounding greenspace. I propose this strip be slated as a no-mow area for the above reasons. Thank you. Mr Kroener left a voice message yesterday indicating he owns the properties at 1306 and 1308 N Maple and they have a water problem. Runoff from the other development on the west side of the street crosses the street and floods their parking lot. He would like to make an appointment for me to come look at it.

The picture is at the SW corner of Pickwick and Winfield. The grade of both Pickwick and Winfield cause water to pool at the SW corner every time it rains. The water stands for several days, especially in the corner of our yard. The problem is made worse by the curbs that have been added north of this corner. Someone from the city did come out and look at it and admitted there was a problem several years ago. We have called repeatedly and can't get any action. As we are reminded, this is a health hazard since it is a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Please help.
