I sent a photo of this via Facebook Messenger to the parking department, and whoever responded to me seemed to think it was a pretty big issue as well. But weeks later it's there still. I understand that there are reasons for manholes on streets, but to place a handicap spot right next to them is absolutely ridiculous. People who are already challenged with mobility do not want to step out on uneven pavement. Weird metal boxes that our trip hazards with dips in them that make puddles develop during rain is maybe the last place I would put accessible parking. Yes, that is the one area in front of fountain Square Mall that a slight ramp up for those who need it, but these metal boxes defeat the purpose. Even knowing that they're there. I have tripped on them several times. Luckily I haven't fallen and hurt myself. But somebody else might.

When events are going on at Switchyard Park, there are simply not enough handicap parking spots available. The last 3 times we have come over here, could not get a spot and all regular spots close are taken too. Double the number?

I am writing to report an issue regarding ongoing street parking on our road. I have attached a photo for your reference. Our street is a cul-de-sac, and a vehicle has been parked there continuously. Because the road is not designed for regular roadside parking, this situation has been causing inconvenience and concern for the residents. There has been a car there for a fucking year and a half every time i go there it’s gets more and more banged up it looks like someone has broken in multiple times and it honestly gets in my nerves that it doesn’t even have a ticket and it’s been there for almost two fucking years bro. there’s a busted window a pried open door and everything in the dash was stolen over time

Backing into the parking spots is not accessible. It takes too long to back into a spot and other cars honk at each other. I work in Luddy Hall on the IU Campus. I have an ADA sticker for my car. The only ADA parking close to the southside of the building in on the west side of Myles Brank Hall behind Luddy. The City of Bloomington has timed parking along the south side of Luddy on Cottage Grove. It would benefit me to have at least one or preferably two of those parking spaces issued for drivers with a disabled license. This building has no parking on the other three sides. I'm 71 years old with major health issues and we have elderly and/or disabled family members come to Luddy also, especially in inclement weather when there is more possibility of falls.
