In the Southeast Park tennis courts: there are yellow jackets living in one of the net support poles. They are in the eastern support pole of the West court. We were there last night and 3 yellow jackets were standing guard on top of the support pole, so we left to use the Bryan Park courts instead.

My family and I were at Olcott Park at 11 am today (9/6/26). While there, 3 young boys on electric bikes rode down the trails quickly, "gunning" their motors loudly (too fast for such a public place). I was concerned about the children playing in the playground and walking through the park. Also, these individuals rode their electric bikes on the soccer fields. Due to the amount of dirt that was disturbed and blowing into the environment, I believe they might have damaged the field with their electric bikes. There was no parental supervision as far as I could tell. I'm wondering if there is a contact number one could call while things like this are happening? Submitting this report seems to be too late as I don't know their identities for follow-up. Thank you.

The large black hanging swings at the south end of the children's playground, along with the same swings on the north side of the splash pad pavilion, are in need of lubrication. They emit a terrible squeal when you try to swing on them, and if all three are in motion at the same time, it's enough to drive you mad. Having someone climb up there once a quarter and spray a little lubrication on the pivot points would presumably work wonders. Thanks for your time and attention!

Thank you to the staff who recently fixed the tennis hit wall at Sherwood Oaks! We use this all the time and saw them fixing it the other day and appreciate having it fixed.

Switchyard Park

Case Date:

I have reached out to Switchyard Park by phone, by email, by social media MULTIPLE times about the noise levels in switchyard park. I’ve also had to call the non-emergency line to see if the police can do anything. (I didn’t know what else to do.) They agreed the noise was very loud but they couldn’t find employees and the performers had permits, so nothing was done. The officers suggested I reach out to the city council. My mother has MS and has an hard time moving around due to this condition and I have autism amongst other health issues. We are being run out of our house almost every time there are events at switchyard park. I understand it is a community park and I do not have an issue with the music or events. I do not want to ruin anyone’s experience whatsoever. It’s the volume that is the issue. The bass is so high it shakes our house. We didn’t know when we purchased our home this would be so much of an issue, and cannot afford to move. When I complain the noise level goes down for a week or so and then right back up. My own birthday party had to be cancelled early due to no one being able to converse inside. Today I had to arrange for my mother with a DISABILITY to be picked up from our home, due to me being at work, because the noise is so bad she can’t even watch tv with the volume turned up and was extremely agitated by the home shaking. I’m in no way asking to cancel anything. We ourselves enjoy some events at the park. I just feel as if being run out of my own home is unfair, especially when all I want to do is come home from work and relax. We are NOT safe to relax in our own home. Is there any way there can be a noise/bass level set so our neighborhood can rest in peace, in our own homes?

Please ban e-bikes and e-scooters from the trails/walkways. People are flying by on these devices with little regard to walkers creating a lot of near misses. It’s especially dangerous for people walking dogs. A ban is the cleanest and simplest solution to the growing problem. Thank you.

Pickle ball courts nets need to be tightened so they are horizontal. Also, lights should be added to the courts for play after dark. Thanks!
