Black flakes in my water that leave a greasy residue. I last reported this issue on March 16, 2026. The issue is not consistent but seems to pop up randomly which makes it a threat as it is easy not to notice when I am potentially showering with it, washing with it, and even drinking it. Water is brown coming from all water faucets.
Water is brown from faucet, toilet water also unclear.
Water is coming out of the faucet yellow this morning. It is also yellow coming out of the garden hose. What is causing this? I am concerned it is unsafe to use.
Our water is brown! Toilets stained - love having to wash my clothes in it. Keep on raising our rates. That's all. Don't bother answering me with the usual excuses about high water in Monroe.

Just like other people have reported, our water is brown/green. I want to make sure it's safe.
When I filled our bathtub tonight I noticed the water coming out of out faucet is light green and there is plant matter floating in it. If you zoom in on the attached photo you can see the little plant. This has not happened since we have lived in this house the past 3 years.
Water quality has gotten extremely bad the last week. We (Starbucks store #02387) monitor our water filtration system regularly and normally need to change the filter every 3-4 months (filters are rated to last up to 6 months but they ask us to change them once they become "latte colored"). Saturday 6/28, we found that our water filter was nearly completely black despite being only 1 month old. We changed the filter on Sunday 6/29 and within 24 hours it had already turned "latte colored" (tan). By Tuesday 7/1, it had already turned a dark brown and we had our water filtration system contractor Icee come out and check over the system, run a refresh, and change all changeable parts. Today, Saturday 7/5, the filter is back to being a dark brown color. We are concerned about what is in the water coming through our system and for those around us consuming tap water.
