When turning right from S Highland Ave onto E Hillside Drive, vegetation on the left badly blocks the view of oncoming traffic on Hillside. You have to nose your car well out into the street to be able to see to the left and verify that it is safe to turn right onto Hillside. Please have that vegetation trimmed.
Yet another accident in front of my office again... I hold the city of Bloomington and the state of Indiana responsible for the idiotic and dangerous changing of the lanes from 4 to 2 with a crazy middle turn lane where cars come head on at each other trying to turn left. I urge you to remove the bike Lanes and remove the center turn lane and turn this back into four lanes. People are going to get killed.
There has been a gray Pontiac Vibe parked on the north side of Maxwell Lane for approximately 2 weeks. It’s located at 1521 E. Maxwell Lane. My neighbor, Raglind Binkley, lives at 1520 E. Maxwell Lane. (She asked me to submit this report due to personal matters). Her words via a text to me: “Depending on which direction I turn..yesterday I almost hit the door.” Raglind’s driveway is directly across the street from this parked car. I (Diane)did not notice any No Parking signs on this segment of Maxwell Lane, so it may be entirely legal for this car to be parked there (?), but continuously without it being moved is the concern. When going North on Rogers pedestrians have the walk signal to cross 3rd when traffic turning from Rogers onto 3rd has a protected turn signal. This is extremely dangerous for pedestrians because motorists are not expecting pedestrians to have the walk sign.
Bushes blocking view when trying to turn on Williamsburg Dr
A few months back I brought to your attention there were missing "no parking" post/signs in the 300/400 block of E 19th St. You acknowledged this and after a month or so you put in Two 10ft poles and put two 4 inch by 4 inch "no parking" signs on the poles that are facing the wrong direction. So basically, you installed two giant poles, and with two miniature signs that are facing the wrong direction, and cars are still parking along the 300/400 blk of E 19th St. on a regular basis. The parking employee does a great job of ticketing the violators, however the cars stayed parked there for hours causing traffic congestion.
There need to be signs on Rogers going south into the 2nd Street intersection because people are not very smart. Cars are going straight from the left turn lane into the shifted lane on the south side of the 2nd Street intersection on Rogers. On Friday afternoon, 4 cars from the left turn lane cut off traffic going straight from the proper lane. This is dangerous. People are bad drivers.
Why is north bound traffic on College crossing the 45/46 bypass such a short green light? Only three cars can make it through before it turns red. It causes really long waits during rush hour, IU move-in etc and encourages people to dangerously run red lights.
2nd & Rogers, heading south on Rogers -- people are idiotically going straight from the left turn lane. The lanes on Rogers south of 2nd were shifted for construction, and people have decided this means they should use the left turn lane to go straight. This morning, 3 cars went straight from the left turn lane, cutting off straight traffic from the straight/right lane at the light. People are just going through the intersection straight from the left lane with total disregard to the lane they are in and how common sense and logic work. Sit a cop out there and you can write tickets all day long. Put up some better signs with the construction to keep people using the proper lanes. Accidents are waiting to happen.
Please ask parking enforcement to monitor for vehicles parked the wrong way on South Park Ave. This presents a safety hazard for the students and parents of Templeton Elementary.
