Ziebart keeps parking overflow cars on the side of Kimble Drive creating a hazardous situation. It sometimes becomes a one lane drive which causes vehicles to pause to let others pass. With the construction of the new Chick Fil A, the situation is getting worse with construction traffic. It will be an absolute nightmare when the restaurant opens. I hope the issue gets addressed sooner than later.
This is just an absolute cluster of problems. I feel afraid every time I have to drive there. There have been upwards of 7 new multi unit houses built there which has increased the density. Parking along the already extremely narrow street is erratic - often parked cars stick out enough that two cars cannot pass each other safely. Garbage cans from the new builds are left in the street making it even more congested. And now, there is a bus route including a bus stop right in the middle of it all. A bus and a car can’t use the road at the same time. This is all adjacent to a busy walking path coming up from campus near the student services building, where people are attempting to cross Jefferson into the Green Acres neighborhood without any crosswalk or signage for drivers to look out (and right next to a large tree that blocks being able to see them until they are in the street). There is a blind hill on Jefferson, right at the point where they are building yet another unit and often have the street further congested/blocked. There are multiple problems here and I have to hold my breath every day I use it. That poor bus driver. It is so many accidents waiting to happen. At the very least, it should be made to have parking on only one side to leave room for traffic. Thanks.
I’m writing to request a review of a traffic safety concern at the intersection of E Creeks Edge Drive and S Heirloom Drive. Vehicles currently park very close to the corner and stop sign along both approaches of Creeks Edge Drive, significantly obstructing sightlines. Drivers turning west onto Creeks Edge from Heirloom must pull into the intersection before they can adequately see approaching traffic, creating a potential collision risk. Could your department evaluate this intersection and determine whether parking restrictions near the corners, “No Parking” signs, or other measures could improve visibility and safety? I am writing to formally report a severe safety incident involving the driver of Bus Line 6 today, September 4, 2026, at approximately 5:53 PM. At this time, the driver deliberately closed the doors early, trapping a passenger in the doorway. This reckless behavior put the passenger at immediate risk of physical injury and directly violates standard safety protocols. Furthermore, this same driver has been deliberately skipping designated bus stops, ignoring passengers waiting to board or alight. This behavior is completely unacceptable, compromises public safety, and warrants immediate disciplinary action, up to and including termination.Please investigate this incident using the route log and any available onboard camera footage. I request an update on the actions taken to address this dangerous behavior and ensure passenger safety moving forward.
This is an urgent public safety, transit operations, and traffic flow hazard linked directly to active uReport cases #213337 and #213273. Using the 302 S. Walnut St. terminal platforms as an unmanaged, unsupervised triage, cooling, and heating center without any specialized oversight relying on passengers to keep the peace and make reports is actively disrupting public transit vehicle traffic. Large crowds, sprawling personal property, bed rolls, and temporary camping items are spilling directly off the designated bus bay benches and onto active boarding paths, pedestrian walkways, and loading lanes. This severe congestion introduces major physical obstructions, causing transit buses to delay docking, creating hazardous driver line-of-sight blind spots, and drastically slowing down passenger boarding flow during early morning and peak commute windows.Furthermore, this operational chaos results in constant, daily ambulance and emergency vehicle responses to the platforms. Due to the restricted lane space and structural congestion at this terminal, responding emergency vehicles routinely block active bus departures and transit traffic lanes. This persistent gridlock forces paying passengers to miss critical medical appointments and lose employment opportunities due to unpredictable, blocked transit vehicles.Compounding this vehicle hazard, the hostile platform environment has caused a severe collapse in off-peak passenger retention. Long-term, multi-year riders are abandoning Bloomington Transit because paying commuters trying to access their designated routes are treated as trespassers in an intimidating, territorial space. Surrendering active loading zones and emergency exits to non-transit use is an unsustainable municipal performance failure that violates Title 15 transit zone compliance. Clear the active bus bays, remove the obstructions from the loading platforms, and restore unobstructed lane access for public vehicles.
At the S Highland / E 2nd St 4 way intersection I have within one week noticed four vehicles that have not obeyd the STOP signs on E 2nd street going east and west. Maybe the big tree in the north east corner needs to be trimmed a little? Or put up a pre warning sign of an upcoming four way STOP?
Construction project that was set to begin 8/20/25 started out of nowhere on 10/6/25, putting Rogers to northbound traffic only. If you do try to go northbound, there is to be a flagger at the Novo Nordisk entrance, but this morning there was not one. Traffic backed up going northbound, and traffic was still coming southbound. Thus, things were at a standstill as there was no flagger from Crider & Crider (company logo I noticed on trucks) to direct traffic. Would like to know when this project will last as it didn't start on time and there was no notice that the southbound lane would be completely closed, even to those of us who live in the area.
