About Us
The Board of Public Works monitors and grants final approval to commission resolutions and directives. The Board is the chief administrative body of the City and has control of the day to day operation of the Department of Public Works, the Board also has the authority to allow and approve claims.

The Board of Public Works meets every other Tuesday at 5:30pm via Zoom Meeting.

Hosting a Community Special Event?
Start by checking out the Bloomington Parks and Recreation facility rentals. They offer outdoor and indoor spaces for concerts, festivals, runs/walks, fitness classes, sports, and more. You can also find more information on how to apply for a Parks Special Event Permit.
If you can’t find a suitable Parks facility, and want to apply for a Special Event in the Right-of-Way Permit, please visit the Civic Access Portal. This application should be submitted at least 90 days before your event. Instructions are available to help assist you in the application process.
Please note: You cannot promote your event (such as announcing dates or a location) until your permit is officially approved by the Board of Public Works.
