Lima Bean

** In a foster home; please call 812-349-3492 for more information** Lima Bean went from shut down and timid in the shelter to a couch potato who loves finding a comfy spot with the pillows, endless toys, and wrestling with her foster brother. Lima Bean has gone three out of five days with no potty accidents and is working hard on keeping that streak going as she learns that potty happens outside. She has learned sit and come and is very smart - she catches on quickly! When she has shown interest in chewing things like furniture or shoes, a stern no and replacement with a toy has done the trick. She has seriously built her confidence over a few short days, learning to climb the stairs, go in her crate, and play tug with her foster brother. Lima needed a slow introduction to her foster brother, but now she is eager to chase, play, and cuddle. Lima Bean is very afraid of the outdoors and is struggling to walk successfully on the leash - however she has made great progress with getting on her halter and feeling comfortable with the leash on. Now we just need to master walking! She is afraid of people, dogs, and cars on walks and will either pull and bark or flatten herself on the ground. We are working hard to adjust her to the scary noises and sounds of the outside and she shows so much promise after adjusting quickly to her harness, leash, and outdoor potty breaks. Lima really came to life with her foster brother Milo and seems to feel more confident when he's around, showing her the ropes. She is the sweetest little goof. She'll need someone with experience with puppies and leash training, but besides that she'll make a great companion - she loves to get extra pets and lovin and is eager to learn and spend her energy with another dog friend!
