My name is Sophie Hosei and I have been attending Indiana University as an undergrad student. I have chronic orthopedic health issues that have caused me to withdraw from school. My last surgery was a donor knee graft transplant on 7/7/26 and after 6 weeks of bed rest, the surgery was not successful and requires more operations. I have another surgery now scheduled for this Friday, 10/30/26, where I will be temporarily disabled for at least another 8 weeks. I signed a year lease with Town Manor at 314 E Smith Ave, Bloomington, IN. 47401 and have asked to be released from the lease due to this ongoing medical disability. The house is not ADA compliant and post surgery, I will be limited to the bed, then wheelchair, and then crutches for several weeks. My future state is mobility is completely unknown. Aaron Vaughn, property manager said we can only sublet the room and although we have attempted to do so, we have been unsuccessful. This is mostly due to the room not really being a typical room set up. It is a loft, where you can only go up via a narrow spindle staircase. There is no door (its just an open room) or closet and you can’t fully stand up because it’s a low ceiling heigh. No one wants to rent it. I am hoping someone can help me get released from the lease completely, while not affecting the other 3 roommates who are on the lease as well. Thank you in advance.

I rent the neighboring property. There is a severe water leak at 819 S Graywell that has flooded my back yard which I am trying to divert into the street. American Leak Detection has notified the person residing here about the water leak coming out of the ground on his property is unable to respond/repair. My house is downhill from this and my yard and the neighbors are being affected.

There is no sidewalk here, so people walk on the street. This is especially dangerous when people are walking on the street at night because there are no streetlights to illuminate them. Please consider adding a sidewalk for people to use as I've witnessed numerous close calls.

SECOND REQUEST This is a follow-up to my request from yesterday (M, OCT 26): "Blocked Sidewalk: Other: White Volvo SUV is blocking my driveway access and my visibility by parking on the amber/yellow line - dangerous situation by blocking exit visibility. Thank you. -ecb 10/26-2026" This same vehicle is still parked in front of my house (404 E 1st Street) in the yellow/amber line, un-ticketed. My u-report ticket #215216 states that it was resolved but to me it is not resolved if the car is still blocking the driveway exit. I have filed u-reports for this type of incident on the weekends and was told that you (parking authority) do not come out on weekends. Now, I have made the request on a weekday (Monday) and the issue still does not get resolved. Can you please tell me how to proceed with a blocked driveway? City crews repaved sections of Moore’s Pike at the end of the week. The work left seem very unfinished and not of good workmanship. The lines between paving are uneven, they left the lines from previous paving exposed so there is a gap in the middle. It is very unsightly and neighbors all around would appreciate a fix in the quality of our road repairs. Thank you.

My neighbor has repeatedly used a charcoal grill that lets up smoke and fills my apartment with that and a burning smell since I moved in (in addition to aggressive behavior in response to my asthma-induced throat clearing and coughing). He is doing so now and smoke is clogging up my deck. I’m not sure if anything can be done. I’ve reported the issue to Steeplechase Management but it seems he hasn’t stopped so not sure how/if it was handled. They aren’t answering their after-hours line. I think it’s against fire code, at least.

Ticket #215083 was closed because it said the trailer full of hazardous garbage was no longer in the location. This is factually incorrect, so I've included a picture. This trailer full of gasoline and dry leaves has been here for a week. The owner of 2113 put it here. He has been asked multiple times to remove it, but he has not. His property (2113) is not included on the road easement. This is a danger and a nuisance to me, my family, and my neighbors.
