All of the decorative lampposts on North Walnut near the intersection with 11th Street are dark. Three on the west side of Walnut and north of 11th, one on the east side of Walnut north of 11th, and two on the east side of Walnut south of 11th but still north of Cottage Grove.
Multiple trail locations including, but not limited to, Leonard Springs, Clear Creek Trail, Olcott Park, and RCA Park have fallen or partially fallen trees which pose a danger to trail users because they are hanging precariously over the trails. Of secondary importance is the fact that these same parks are littered in fallen trees and limbs which pose a significant fire risk. I frequent these trails regularly and can provide multiple photos of the conditions I have described above. Please take time to investigate this urgent safety concern for the sake of our city's park users. Thank you!
At 7th and Morton, on 7th in both directions for the lanes of motor vehicle traffic, there are no painted white stop lines perpendicular to the lanes for the new stop signs. It would be helpful to have the thick white stop lines to help signal to traffic that they must stop at this intersection. This is for both east and west bound traffic lanes.
A blue sign in the Waldron Hill Buskirk Park has obscene picture drawn on it
There are penises drawn on the large blue slide
I’m sure you love getting these. I’ve had a small trench on the side of the road on the University Road side of my house. It’s been there for a while. Recently, a water line broke or something similar happened requiring the city to move a fire hydrant to the city easement in that part near my yard. The trench has gotten bigger, and with the new construction, it has exposed dirt that will further wash out. I think you’ll want to add a lot of gravel to cover that trench and the construction spot for the hydrant. A new storm drain may be a long term solution. Anyway, if you can add a lot of gravel or similar (grass?), I won’t even complain about the damage to my lawn or even the lawn damage from Hoosier Fiber from last year.
The walking bridge on Second Street between Rose Ave and Anita was damaged by a fallen tree about a month ago and has been closed since then. To walk to work, I have to invade a neighbor's privacy by walking through her yard. I have noticed quite a few people (including an elderly one today) walking on the street, which is very tight traffic-wise. Does the city have plans to fix it? A second concern is one I've asked about several times over the years. Since I've heard about the plan to reconfigure the bike lanes on 3rd Street beginning on Rose, is it possible to put a crosswalk there (across 3rd on Rose). I have found this also to be a hazardous place to navigate on my walk to work in the IU School of Education on North Rose Ave. Many thanks for your attention to both questions! Trash and recycle containers left on side of street for weekly pickup and they stay there…..never removed. This has been ongoing for months. The recycle still on side of street after trash retrieval 5 days ago. Trash container was with it but was gone this morning. Apparently people deposit trash and recycle on the side of the road and bring their trash from inside their home to the street and the containers are usually overflowing. Bizarre!
Complainant has visible black mold on flooring under the sink. Reported the issue over a week ago to Property Mgmnt. Maintenance said they would not replace because it is a newer board. The adjacent board had a hole in it from a water leak and was replaced. Also has concern about bathroom sink repair.
