There are multiple drainage issues in this area. The 2 outlets from the stormwater drain are partially covered (just west of the storm drain across Monon Dr). I’m not sure if the drain under the road is clear. The area floods readily with any rain. The ditch that runs west is blocked by leaves where it goes under a driveway and by debris closer to clear creek (at the end of hillside). Because this is one of the only drains/outlets/drainage ditches in the area it’s important to get it cleaned out. Can you help?

Subject: Concern About Clogged Storm Drains on 1st Street Dear Bloomington Town Official, I am reaching out regarding an ongoing issue with leaves clogging the above-ground grated storm drains along 1st Street, between Henderson and Grant Streets. I previously reported this concern a few weeks ago, but the problem has reappeared due to the continued accumulation of leaves. The situation seems to have worsened following Bloomington's policy change to no longer collect unbagged leaves. As a result, many residents are no longer raking, and the town has become noticeably untidy. These clogged drains pose a significant risk of flooding when it rains, creating potential hazards for our community. I kindly ask for prompt attention to clear these drains and consider ways to address the broader issue of leaf accumulation to maintain the town’s cleanliness and prevent future drainage problems. There is no drainage system on Olive street just south of Hillside. Additionally, Ridgemont Ct runoff gathers here as well. Cars try to drive through wich causes waves to sending more water into the effected houses. 18" in the street. Years of neighbors and past residents call for help have garnered no response from the city.

The new builders on the corner of Covenanter Drive and High Street installed a pipe last week. Our concern is that the pipe was not installed low enough to keep the flow of water continuing to High street and beyond. With the rainy season coming...we are concerned that the pipe will make water back up on our property. The city just spent two weeks closing off High street to fix this issue and now we are concerned that the new builders have just put something in (but not properly installed it) so they could have a little rock culvert to get to their property off of Covenanter Drive. I sent an email to Vic Kelson and Brandon Prince on Thursday, but never heard back from them. I am writing again because we would like this matter to be taken care of now before they get more involved with building and it is too late to fix the problem. I would appreciate if somebody would get back with me on this matter. Thank you.

I have a movie and many pictures to show that the new draining system on Covenanter Dr, between high street and Brooks Dr is overflowing and causing damage to properties.

The swale to the west side of our home overfilled as storm water was backed up at the street drains which then flooded the window well to our basement on June 18-19. Although our yard is regularly flooded during heavy storms, the west swale was designed and dug by the City to carry excess water to the street. We believe this swale needs to be dug deeper and lined with rock to stop erosion from occurring to prevent future flooding of our basement. Please send an engineer to evaluate. This problem has been reported several times.

The whole stretch of East Moores Pike between Sare Rd and Andrew Circle needs drainage work. Whenever there's even a little rain the ground either side of the road drains into the road for a week after. There's black ice all over it pretty much all winter and it's a fast road on a steep hill. During even light rain it's deep enough to cause hydroplaning.

This property collects water in its basement, owner disposes of water by running a hose tube, to the property line, which causes soil erosion, utility pole erosion, and water on public sidewalk.

Water doesn't drain at all at this drain site. It pools in the street, and runs downhill overwhelming the drainage capacity on the other side of the circle down by 170 E Sunny Slopes Dr.
