There are people living in a trailer powered by a very loud generator in a house without utilities at 703 W. 7th Street. Is there anything that can be done to remedy this situation? The man who is swatting in the house is a bully who intimidates the neighbors. The man who owned the property recently died. ed house w

Water Quality

Case Date:
5/6/2026

Black flakes in my water that leave a greasy residue. I last reported this issue on March 16, 2026. The issue is not consistent but seems to pop up randomly which makes it a threat as it is easy not to notice when I am potentially showering with it, washing with it, and even drinking it. Photo shows the black residue left after filling my bathtub with water only. Quarter for scale.

Line of Sight

Case Date:
5/12/2026

There is a half-fallen-down branch in the tree plot in front of 212 E. 2nd Street. The leafy branches of that still-connected branch make it hard for cars to have good visibility when making left-hand turns from S. Lincoln onto 2nd Street. That branch needs to be removed before there is an accident.

I wanted to voice my frustrations with some of the new policies that negatively impact the high school golf programs that compete/practice at Cascades Golf Course. First, my understanding is that there is a new policy that the high school team and players cannot schedule tee times in the afternoon during their practice period on any day other than Mondays or Tuesdays. My son has a junior annual membership at Cascades (and has for the last 8-10 years), yet because of his participation on the high school golf team, this policy would presumably prevent him from being able to reserving a tee time on Wednesday-Friday from 3-5:30 p.m. Any other junior annual member who isn't on the team can reserve a tee time during that same time slot. My son pays the same amount for his annual membership as any other junior, but he is presumably denied access because of his participation on the golf team. If that is in fact the policy, that is wrong, unfair, and should be changed immediately. On another note, from what we have been told, I find it disappointing that many of the changes that negatively impact the golf programs (higher prices for range balls, new restrictions to practice space, restrictions to permissible days to schedule matches, etc.) were made without any dialogue with the coaches and/or high school administration. While I fully appreciate that Cascades Golf Course is a business and changes like these are necessary at times, it would seem that the longstanding relationship that the Bloomington North H.S. golf programs and players have had with Cascades would have made a discussion appropriate. That type of discussion would have at least provided an opportunity for the coaches/school to express how some of these changes negatively impact the team (i.e., how viable is it to have a JV team if practice space is so limited?) and how it negatively impacts the growth of the sport. I think a municipal city course should be striving to encourage local youths to play golf, and not making changes that discourage them from doing so.

next to the tow lot on West 10th at N. Summitt is an opportunity for a pedestrian path down to the B-Line Trail. Likely the best thing would be a combination stair and ramp, with appropriate amounts of retaining structure as the hillside is being weakened by erosion, causing trees to fall.
