East 7th is unique in that it is two parallel roads each with its own signage. Stop signs have been installed, removed and reinstalled at various intersections. No where else is there traffic going the opposite direction (west) on both sides of an eastbound vehicular lane. Nor is there another pair of lanes going east with a westbound lane in between them anywhere else in town. The stop signs become more critical due to the additional complexity. Going east the vehicular lanes cannot see their signs. The bike next to me yesterday blew thru every sign while pointing at drivers at the intersections. When the motorized bike, electric scooter etc. keeps going as he did the car driver will instinctively assume the same especially if there isn't a sign visible until the last minute. Delivery trucks, city maintenance vehicles, and trash bins blocking one or the other at times create confusion. Remove the trees and, if a barrier is deemed necessary, plant low bushes.

A year has passed since I wrote this (closed case #188144): 'The orange barriers along the sidewalk on S High Street between Wimbleton and E Meadowbluff Ct still have not been removed and remain a big eyesore. I was told that Duke Energy needs to do something there before they can be removed. I bet it has been 2 years now that those barriers have been there. Isn't it time that Duke did what they need to do in order for them to be removed?! The, by now faded, barriers are still there a year later. When will this eyesore disappear?

While l love the permeable pavers at Hopewell Commons, I feel they create an unsafe environment. The pavers cross Morton, making that area appear to be an extension of the park. It doesn't look like a road, so I fear park users, especially children, won't look for cars. I think warning signs or additional stop signs could increase safety

The signal at Rogers and Kirkwood has been flawed for some time now. The left arrow activates in all directions even when there is no one there to trip it. It slows down traffic significantly at a busy intersection.

first, thank you for putting stop signs back on 7th street. there are a number of speed bumps,speed humps around the city. i have only found one marked. maybe, perhaps signs could placed to give warning to motorist approaching the bumps, humps. thank you.

The northbound traffic at Kinser Pike and the bypass gets so backed up many evenings past Brookdale Drive. It takes so many lights to get through. If you’re going straight, the majority of the cars are making right turns, especially now with the amount of student apartments that are along the south end of Kinser Pike. There needs to be a right turn lane on that side of the intersection. Also, on the opposite side of the intersection, the right turn lane and the straight lane of southbound. Kinser Pike holds a lot of water when it rains due to the new white curb with the white poles that has been installed there. Those are really an eyesore, but it’s causing water to flood when we have rain.

My wife and I live at 515 W 3rd st, in Prospect Hill. I would like to request a simple upgrade to the functionality of the pedestrian signals at the S. Rogers st. and W. 3rd st. traffic interchange. I will reference the City of Chicago as a best practice. In Chicago, in almost every intersection with a traffic light, all pedestrian signals utilize the following sequence: a) When the light turns green, the white walk icon light actuates. b) When the pedestrian signal reaches the 30 second level (sometimes more or less than 30 seconds, depending on the overall duration of the light), the white walk signal changes to a red blinking don't walk icon and countdown timer, which counts down the remaining walk time. c) When the timer reaches 0, the blinking light changes to a full red don't walk icon. This coincides with the traffic light turning yellow. d) This functionality is in place 24/7/365. This functionality provides crucially important situational information to both drivers and pedestrians on the status of the traffic light. This is especially important as we somewhat frequently witness incidents of road rage at this intersection, as an unintended consequence of the no right turn on red signage that has been placed at this intersection. I am generally supportive of the no right turn on red signs, but the signage has definitely created this new issue. Because this functionality already exists at this intersection (in some pedestrian signals, at some times of the day), there should not be any material cost to make this change. It will require a technician to modify the code in the microprocessor that controls the lights. Please feel free to reach out to me if you would like to discuss further. Thank you. Section of the sidewalk on the east side of High St. is consistently underwater. Once the standing water drains, a thick coat of slippery mud is left. The specific location is just north of the hill heading south on the sidewalk. Thanks! John

I don't have an actual issue. I witnessed this vehicle driving over the curb and into this flower bed on the evening of 6/2/25 (~5:38 pm). They left the scene soon after. I just wanted to share my knowledge with the city in case they are looking for the person responsible for damaging the flower bed.

Several Bird scooters are blocking the sidewalk on West 3rd, south side of 3rd street, east of Rogers. They’ve been there a while. Thank you.
