There is a large pothole by my driveway that has ruined the tires on the passenger side of the car. I have to buy new tires, but until the hole is fixed it will damage the new ones again. Your crew fixed Maple, but not West 4th last week.

So I was driving there this morning, driving at the intersection, and I was on 3rd Street, and near the intersection. Driving to the IU pool Sunday night, when my daughter hit a pot hole on Fee Lane around 17th Street. It was dark, so she couldn't see to avoid it. It popped her tire. Please repair this pot hole before it costs someone else a lot of money. Thank you!

Urgent Complaint Regarding Road Conditions at Tulip Tree Apartments Dear manager, I am writing to formally raise a complaint about the poor road conditions at Tulip Tree Apartments, particularly the section of the road immediately after exiting the parking lot. As a resident, I have noticed that turning east from the parking lot has become increasingly difficult due to the uneven and damaged road surface. Since moving to Tulip Tree this academic year, I have experienced recurring issues with my car’s wheel alignment. In November of last year, I had to get a four-wheel alignment, and again in March of this year—both times due to a fault in the front right wheel’s toe angle. This issue never occurred during my previous residency at Campus View, but since living at Tulip Tree, I have had to perform two alignments in just a few months to prevent uneven tire wear and avoid further damage. Given that I frequently turn east when exiting the parking lot, my front right wheel has been subjected to excessive strain due to the poor road conditions. I understand that driving slowly over rough roads can help minimize vehicle damage. However, the actual road conditions make it nearly impossible to pass through slowly. Vehicles traveling westbound are affected by the angle of the road, making it difficult for me to accurately judge distances. As a result, I am often forced to accelerate quickly when I see an opening, further exacerbating the stress on my vehicle’s suspension and alignment. Indiana University has been actively repairing roads across campus, yet the roads around Tulip Tree remain in a severely deteriorated state. While I cannot directly prove that the road conditions are the sole cause of my vehicle’s alignment issues, the correlation is evident—especially considering that I had no such issues during my time at Campus View. The need for multiple alignments in such a short period is highly unusual and costly. I strongly urge the management to address this issue and take immediate action to repair the road. This is not just a financial concern for residents facing repeated maintenance costs but also a significant safety issue. I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to your response regarding any planned repairs. Best regards, Sherlock

Good morning, there are 2 enormous pot holes directly in front of our 2 parking spaces and have been watching them continue to increase in depth and size (probably primarily due to the trash trucks that drive right over them twice a week) since we moved in here a year ago. I haven't complained about them previously, but back in November 2024 I had to get help from St. Vincent De Paul to help replace CV joints, ball joints, multiple other parts and ended up having to replace my front axle, as well, directly after having to drive through these potholes to get into our parking spot for a total of approximately $995. St. Vincent De Paul was very generous and helped us by paying $500 towards our bill and I paid the balance. In addition, a few weeks ago, after scraping bottom once again on the Southern most of these two potholes. I ruptured a brake line, lost control of my vehicle temporarily and had to spend another $395. last month to repair that. Unfortunately I am on a fixed income and this caused us to be late again on our rent. I just cannot afford to not say anything now as I am a disabled single mother trying to get my youngest through college at IU Bloomington. Could someone please respond letting me know if there is any reimbursement for damages or recourse I might have for these multiple damages to my vehicle and when approximately these holes might get some attention? I do have receipts from the repairs. Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter and your reply to my inquiry as to reimbursement or recourse. Twice in the past 4 months I have had to be late on my rent to continue to have a vehicle to secure food for my family as I am on SSDI and the sole income in our household and am trying to keep my rent current and credit up so as to qualify for a mortgage again in the near future. On the Saturday a couple weeks ago on the day of the Michigan football game, they open the road back up after shaving down the asphalt and left the 6 inch steel plumbing fixture of some type sticking up in the middle of the center lane. It broke off by the time I came back around to take a photograph, but I took a picture of the hole where it broke off at and a picture of it. I can’t believe I let this sticking that high out of the ground. it destroyed my tire bit my strut and caused some damage to my car, which was completely unacceptable. There’s no way to see it with the car in front of me until I hit it and I was careful around all these areas but they left two and 3 inch lifted up, plumbing all over the area not to mention multiple inch edges where they cut down. There’s no way a car can handle any of these situations especially not the 6 inch steel shown in the picture. Who do I talk to you about getting my car fixed? This was complete negligence not to mention extremely unsafe thank you.

After the wind storm prior to July 4th. a tree blew down in the street at my property located 1601 s. walnut. in an attempt to clear the street, city worker pushed the tree against the home located there. the branches on the tree caught under the rubber portion of the roof on the home. the tree lifted the rubber membrane causing a leak into the home. i need to know who i can contact for relief from repair cost from this incident. i would hope the operator of the equipment did not realize the damage caused and that is why it was not reported or brought to my attention. just need to know who to contact. if i need to come in person still just need to know whom to contact. your cooperation would be greatly appreciated.

On Friday, July 12, a crew from JE Reedy pushed through my double locked gate to clear a path so they could install fiber overhead (in a neighborhood that already has fiber). They seriously cut at least 3 trees: 2 are trees that get no taller than 15 feet, and a pine that was near the pole they needed to climb (Duke has cleared this area for years and never had to hack the pine). They said that they came by on Thursday but they did not leave any notice that they would be working in my backyard so they were trespassing. They could have done their work without destroying my fence row but that would have involved creativity and a little effort. I am sickened, angry and sad and want someone in the City to see this mess and come up with a way to make this right. I have several photos but could only upload one.
