Could you please ask the landlord at 402 E 1st Street to clean up the leaves in their front yard? Twice now, their leaves have blown onto my property at 404 E 1st Street. I had my yard cleaned before Thanksgiving and again today, December 14. As you can see from the photo, my property (on the left) is well-maintained, while 402 (on the right) is not. I would appreciate it if the landlord could take responsibility and maintain the property in a way that reflects good neighborly behavior. FYI: I do not have trees on my front or side yards. My apartment X32 has flooded 4x since April 2024, with the last time being on December 16, 2024. After the 3rd time it flooded on May 15, 2024, they informed me that a drain pipe was leaking directly into my apartment and placed a plastic pipe to extend the drainage. However, this was not a permanent fit and it flooded again. On December 17, 2024 I went into the leasing office and asked to relocated by the end of January. They stated they could not accommodate this and someone would reach out to me later in the week. No one did. I left a message on January 1st and they called me back on January 2nd. I informed my apartment that a mold test kit tested positive for mold in an air test of the bedroom as well as a swab test for under part of my living room and bedroom baseboards. I was informed mold was everywhere and in order to leave the unit I would have to find another tenant to sub lease it or pay 3 months rent for a buy out. I don't believe these conditions are safe for me in the long term and they are refusing to provide a permanent fix to the issue. Their current fix is to place another plastic drain pipe, which was only a fix from May to December.
717 S. park Ave. is being used as a short term rental. There is no valid occupancy permit since 2013 (see attached). No one has been in the house since football season, but during football season cars with license plates from various states were parked in the back during weekends when an IU home game was played.
It Is believed this home is being used as a sober living home. They are charging recovering addicts for a bed. I do not believe they have been approved for this by HAND or have any of the proper documentation to run a place of this nature. The company seems to be scamming people for money to get these homes in their program.
Trash collection was on Tuesday. It's Thursday and the cans are still out on Ballantine Rd. north of Hunter.
Both of these locations, and many more, still are snow covered almost a week after the snow stopped. Please enforce the snow clearing ordinance more vigorously. Please also require property owners to clear corners instead of leaving snow between the sidewalk and the street. Thank you.
Sidewalks not cleared: 720 S College Mall Rd (E side) & 2628 E Covenanter Ct (E & W sides of College Mall) My wife and I walked to the "Shoppes" this morning on College Mall Road. After climbing over deep mounds of snow on the W side of Covenanter and crossing College Mall Road, we found that there had been no effort made to clear the sidewalk on the E side. Thinking we could return more easily by going North and crossing on Buick Cadillac Drive, we tried that. No attempt had been made to clear this sidewalk either. These are ALL commercial properties that should be responsible for clearing; that had done so for cars.
