There is a section of concrete gutter trough in front of 1311 Hearthstone Court's driveway that is heaving and scraping the bottom of cars as they pull in the drive.
Mr Foster left a voice message yesterday. He said it has to do with a manifestation of water in his basement/crawl space. It is not coming in from the walls and it comes and goes. He had his water lines changed thinking that was the problem but still occurs. The area becomes muddy and now there's some mold as well. He wants advice on what he can do.

Homeowner came to CBU with the following complaint & request: The stone retaining wall next to the ditchline is deteriorating; this is the 2nd failure in the wall due to drainage problems. Homeowner states that the ditch is in poor condition, not flowing properly, and full of "mud piles", etc which is causing erosion below the wall. He is requesting a call to schedule a time to meet onsite to show staff what is happening and determine what can be done about it. The drainage ditch behind our property and to the east was never properly engineered to handle all the water from rains and multiple neighborhoods.It overflows and leaves properties too wet to mow for weeks as well as the trees standing in the water are dying and falling which is a dangerous situation for the neighborhood. This standing water is a health and safety hazard as a breeding ground for mosquitoes.And it can not be mowed properly .The neighborhood applied for a grant last year but it was denied.It has been dug out a few years ago by the city but without proper method used to apply rock to maintain the ditch open the problem just re occurs with it growing over and does not stay open to handle the water and it floods again .
Outside her complex, on the western side of the building, the parking area has potholes, so they flood after it rains. She suggested the area be trenched and a drain installed so the water does no continue to pool. Whatever the solution, she would be appreciative if it could be fixed!

Are folks allowed to drain straight into the street? House at Park Ridge and Morningside has two to three new drain outlets straight into street and city sewer. Morningside side.
This retention pond still does not drain. The problems reported sure/fall of 2013 persist.
