There was construction going on for a few months on the entrance into the plaza but has since stopped abruptly. The crew has not been back to finish off the street and all sides of the streets are completely torn apart and damaged. This is unacceptable and can significantly damage one’s vehicle! When is this going to get finished?
Thanks Kelsey, The creek has been much clearer lately. I appreciate you following up. Usually when it is cloudy, it clears up in a day or two. I do watch it closely and will let you know, but unless you are able to get out right away, it may be difficult for you to see it when it is looking bad. Mr. Horvath, the sediment in Jackson Creek at Rock Creek Drive may have been a result of construction in the watershed. There is one construction project upstream from your location that may have contributed sediment in the past, but according to our Planning Department who manages the grading permits, that site has since been stabilized. I was in the area last week and observed some utility work being done in the neighborhood, but can't say if that was what caused the sediment in the stream on 2/2/2019. Sheila McGlothlin received a call from Mr Haney on Feb 6th advising "they have had a large plastic green pipe sticking out of their ground at an angle for about the past year. He was wondering the status of this pipe and what if anything will be done with it?"
We have lived here for nearly 40 years and the creek water has never looked this bad. Yes, after a heavy rain, it is cloudy, but it hasn't rained for over a week. The water looks very dirty and there is a bad smell, as well. Not sure if this is the department to inform. If not please pass this along. Children play in the creek and there seems to be some type of runoff or other issue that is making the water look bad. Thanks
Ms Kao contacted Jon Callahan and then me about the culvert under the drive at First United Church. She explained they want to do some improvements to make is safer to mow around the culvert and was hoping someone could give her some advice.
She represents the Woolery Mills HOA. Indicated the resident at 2416 Woolery Mill Dr had water in their crawlspace last weekend. They checked and found a drain not functioning and didn't know if it was City responsibility. She emailed pictures.
Ms Butler is happy with the sidewalk and drainage project the city did a few years ago on 5th St but said she is now seeing erosion by her drive and in front of her house and is concerned about someone driving off into it and loosing control of their car.
Ms. Butler left a voice message thanking me for having our crew come out so quickly and put asphalt in the eroded area by the street (Case #138739). She said it will be much better now and she really appreciates us taking care of it. She said "I love the City!"
She left a voice mail indicating her parents live at this address and have had problems with water damage and drainage for the last couple years. Water comes off neighbor's driveway and across road and down their driveway. She has pictures. She said she and her brother will be in town next week and want to try a resolve this issue. She wanted to know if she could send me pics, have someone look at it and let her know if it might be an issue with the road slope or if it's a private home issue. And if it is a private home issue, who she could call to help her fix it next week. She said she teaches so can't answer the phone but asked me to text her an email address so she could send the photos.
Excess water seems to be coming out of my drains at the street, even days after it has rained. My water bill was high last month, and I thought it was for other reasons. Now I am worried that there is a leak.
